Women only trans inclusive This is an inclusive community for all things women. Whether you're here for make up tips, feminism or just friendly chit chat, we've got you covered.

Rules…

  1. Women only… trans women are women, and transphobic or gender critical talk isn’t allowed. Anyone under the trans umbrella (e.g. non-binary, bigender, agender) is free to decide whether a women's community is a good fit for them.
  2. Don’t be a dick. No personal attacks, no aggression, play nice.
  3. Don’t hate on groups, hatefilled talk about groups is not allowed. Ever.
  4. No governmental politics, so no talk of Trump actions etc. We recommend Feminism@beehaw.org for that, but here is an escape from it.
  5. New accounts or users with few comments may have their posts removed to prevent spam and bad-faith participation.

A VPN so we can have access to any TV show or movie we want, for very very cheap. Cheaper than paying streaming services' ever increasing prices for a worse experience over time.

Anything local. Ideally made and sold locally (in a perfect world you're buying from the maker directly).

Good point! I use my local butcher for eggs, hardware store for cleaning products etc. It doesn't cost much more but it's way more ethical

House cleaning. We get house cleaning every second week and it is absolutely one of the best things we spend money on.

I hate to say it, but I get a lot of mileage out of YouTube Music, paying for the family plan, we listen to music a lot.

The electric bike is probably saving us hundreds of dollars a month, because without it we would need another car. 2k to buy it, has paid for itself in less than a year.

Aldi is pretty good for certain things. I don't care for their meat, and sometimes their produce is a little haggard, but things like oats, cooking oil, laundry detergent, etc are all pretty decent at Aldi. Plus they have jaffa cakes so I don't need to get them on Amazon anymore! It saves me a good amount of money.

I'm not nuts about Amazon as a company, but I can't deny how useful the Subscribe & Save feature is. I subscribe to a lot of things that I would otherwise have to run separate errands for - e.g., protein powder, skincare products, tea.

A pest control subscription has been great for me recently. Last year I moved out to a somewhat rural area, and the previous owners of this house had been ignoring some pest issues like mice in the basement and paper wasps outside. So we got a monthly subscription to a pest control service, and now anytime we have an issue, they come out and take care of it with no bill. It's unlimited service, and has really been worth it!

Pedicures! They're pretty inexpensive for a 45-minute escape from life to pamper yourself, and they can last weeks (well my toenails grow pretty fast, but I can usually get 2 weeks out of a pedi).

Travel-sized fragrances! Rather than buying a whole expensive bottle, you can get a variety of smaller bottles. They still last a long time, and now you have a bunch of scents to choose from. And perfume can really boost my mood :)

Clarins foundation, at £30 a bottle it's not cheap but it's really good quality and stays on fairly well. I won't use anything else!

I also think Disney streaming is worth it. They've got loads of serials and sitcoms, plus the cartoons are nice escapism sometimes.

The link isn't working for me - which Clarins foundation do you use? I'm always on the hunt for a new one!

[–] LadyButterfly@piefed.blahaj.zone 1 points 2 months ago

It's clarins everlast, it's pretty solid

Sonicare toothbrush.

Grocery delivery (I work like 12+ hours a day, and want to spend time with my kids when I'm done - not grocery shop).

The Ordinary shampoo and conditioner (the only shampoo that doesn't give me a rash and makes my hair super soft).
