The war is for the human mind and we just invented the equivalent of the nuclear bomb. AI is going to be used to manipulate people on a scale we can't even fathom.

We are at war and the tech bros found the cheat code. We are really fucked because no one is even mentioning what is really going on.

social media is a tool for mass-manipulating the people & social engineering. that's why we need community-run fediverse.

“ain’t no war but class war.”

How else are we supposed to learn the US map?

[–] WhatGodIsMadeOf@feddit.org 17 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

it's a coup. American government is trying to overthrow itself the way they do other countries. trump is a puppet, Russia is a scapegoat, and division is marketed to manifest the conditions they need to manipulate their own people.

it's not entirely a class war either. it's just the dark side of humanity. and the desire of control, power, and conquest. no different from the past, no different from the future... humans aren't as good or special as they teach you to believe, we're still animals... most of us are practically cattle for the people above us to use an abuse, and we made it tradition to celebrate that instead of learning how to master raw reality ourselves. ...because that's scary and it's easier to just consume and do what they say than to live with the reality that chaos dominates and having to face it constantly.

eventually maybe naive politicians and business people will start to understand the game they play isn't the actual game they think they are playing. the real "game" is no different from the bottom of the streets to the top of the most prestigeous mainstream, and it is untouched by honest law and order... it's always war and chaos. and that game is the one they teach you not to play, because then, if you played it you would understand the reasons of why they do what they do and. they would have a new enemy.

I wouldn't say cattle, more like functional cells. Society at the end of the day functions at all because the vast majority of people go about their day keeping the lights on, the water flowing and food on plates. The people at the top who think they're superior are like cancer cells that don't even realise theyr'e entierly dependant on the same system they're cannibalising.

I wouldn’t say cattle

Yeah, more like chattel.

[–] WhatGodIsMadeOf@feddit.org 6 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

I can see that on a zoomed out level. Cancer is a great way to put it.

And thanks to my fellow Democrats most of us aren’t armed. Great job guys.

[–] burgerpocalyse@lemmy.world 26 points 1 day ago

republicans banned guns in California because of black people arming themselves in the 1960s

[–] jfrnz@lemmy.world 1 points 21 hours ago

You wouldn’t use yours anyway.

I have no qualms about gun control, because I am not a person who should own a gun. I'm bipolar and medicated. That doesn't mean I'm cured, and it doesn't mean I won't ever have a relapse into an uber manic phase where I could hurt someone else, or a depressive phase where I turn the gun on myself. I'm not going to lie, the current state of things make me WANT to own a gun, but I am just going to have to find my own way to help with the resistance to Trump and Fascism that doesn't involve firearms. There are other ways to make a difference. That being said, any democrat that can legally obtain a firearm absolutely should.

Only reason I don’t own one is for my own safety

Saw some dystopian TV show that was talking about "two American civil wars", which ultimately led to The Event.

[–] WhatGodIsMadeOf@feddit.org 8 points 1 day ago (1 children)

The Event? isn't that one of the Kardashians lovers?

[–] A_norny_mousse@feddit.org 9 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

We do not speak about The Event. Remain indoors.

Obligatory Bell Riots

[–] Eat_Your_Paisley@lemmy.world 9 points 1 day ago (3 children)

I wouldn't worry about the surfers but the vegans are pretty militant

[–] ShinkanTrain@lemmy.ml 10 points 1 day ago

Surfers can get pretty wild. Watch the documentary Point Break

[–] skooma_king@piefed.social 10 points 1 day ago

Try cutting a surfer off on a wave they had the inside on or crowding their local spot with tourists and see how militant things get. For real though, everyone thinks surfers are chill, but that’s skateboarders. Surfers no chill

We've trained by watching undercover videos of how livestock is treated. We know what torture is. What goes around, comes around, right?

Leave the Anesthesia behind, fellas! We won't be using it.

NGL, the US being at war with itself might be the only way for the global South to escape its grasp, and for the MIL to collapse. Most of the world can only cheer for the potential American implosion...

[–] NuXCOM_90Percent@lemmy.zip 13 points 1 day ago (2 children)
  1. dot ml is that way
  2. Much like with Russia and China: While there may or may not be arguments towards the value of a massive power vacuum, no sane person should want a civil war in a country with more nukes than some small nations have people.

no sane person should want a civil war

what you're missing here is that the US has led a hidden civil war since its inception. every time they tell the kids to salute to the flag and sit and listen, instead of speaking their mind, they're indoctrinating children and going against the will of the people, it's already civil war. this is just another step, but one that brings us closer to an escape.

[–] ArgumentativeMonotheist@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Mmm. Perhaps I was too naive and hopeful. If only there was a way to stop Western imperialism (I mean, Gaza is undeniable because its livestreamed!). America collapsing would certainly do much for the cause, but yeah, they're monkeys with machine guns pointed at everyone including themselves. Ayayaya, what a situation everyone else sadly finds themselves in.

Also, I got banned from .ml cause I'm too woke! 😂

[–] ShinkanTrain@lemmy.ml 3 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

It is already happening with no civil war required.

Though not without needless death of a lot of USians, so you got that right.

[–] taiyang@lemmy.world -5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Truth be told, they've really done very little in LA side from making people nervous. Plus they only really did downtown; this cartoon acts like the military/feds even know the valley exists lol

[–] KindnessIsPunk@lemmy.ca 2 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

It was unnecessary escalation that manufactured consent.

[–] taiyang@lemmy.world 2 points 21 hours ago

Sorry, that's not what I'm trying to imply. It's more that reality is much more incompetent than we're led to believe.
