Frequently (multiple times a day) I hit the Posts button accidentally while I’m scrolling through my feed, which brings me to my list of subscribed Communities. When I tap Home to get back to my feed, it reloads the whole thing fresh every time. All I want is for it to go back to where I left off. I’ve lost track of so many posts this way. Am I just an idiot using the app wrong?

Love the app, it’s still my favorite hands down.

Yes, the inability to close the community list page and go back to the main page is really the only problem I ever have with this app. I've tried everything I can think of, but once you accidentally open the communities list there is no going back no matter how much you want to.

Happens to me all the time, but with the swipe left/right from the border of the screen. I understand that reloading when selecting a community or feed can be wanted by user, since AFAIK there is no other option to reload the feed you're currently in. I just wish the navigation principle of swiping left/right from the border of the screen could work in the communities list to bring you back to the previous feed. Altough, tbf, if there's a post i want to read, i save it, and if i didnt have the time, i can remember which post it was and find it again.

This hasn’t happened to me but I can imagine the frustration. Maybe an option to hide buttons on scroll could help with preventing the accidental press.

This isn’t the behavior I’m seeing.

If I view this post, and tap the Posts button, it just goes back a level as if swiped back. And it’s still scrolled such that I see the post I just left.

If I tap Posts on while on the Home feed, it scrolls to the top of the feed.

If I tap Posts while scrolled to the top of a feed, it goes back a level. Home -> List of Feeds/Communities.

Environment:

  • iOS
  • PWA install
  • Home feed set to show Top 6 hours.

I may have missed a step in my description, but regardless the issue is when going from Communities back to Home. It always refreshes Home, but I would rather it stay in the state I left it so I can resume browsing.

Oh I see now. That behavior is the same as mine.

But it sounds like you don’t have the scroll to top behavior in your Home feed. I say this because you say you frequently accidentally tap Posts, having it take you to the main screen. But for me, I would need to accidentally double tap it. Once to scroll to top, and once to go to the main screen.

I can also see you being frustrated with the posts button taking you to the top of the feed too.
