Welcome to Republicans' America. This comes right after Trump's administration started forcing trans folks out of the military, yet denying them retirement benefits. People with 15-18 years of service to our country that had been previously approved for early retirement have now had that rescinded because they are "medically unfit". The hatred is in full force...

having their retirement stolen from them is fucking vile

I'm actually surprised that I have not heard about people dying as a result of this

I’m surprised there haven’t been lawsuits around breach of contracts

BWW is a trash ass company!! I was on restrictions where I couldn’t lift anything more than 5lbs and then couldn’t be on my feet for a prolonged time due to a back injury I had at the school I taught and this manager has the audacity to tell me I still could work a double and yelled at me about how messed up it was that I couldn’t come in (I had doctors notes and gave him notice). I then so upset called corporate and complained about what happened to me and they promised to follow up and ensure that doesn’t happens to anyone else given my doctors notes. Well come to find out, he was fired two weeks after my corporate complaint! So hopefully they do the same because that company is truly horrid and that server is a POS! NAME HER! Haha.

It looks we’re one step away from someone having to physically “verify” someone’s gender.

“I only inserted my fingers into their vagina to make sure that it was real.”

“I touched their penis to confirm that it was indeed real.”

... and I feared for my life from the genitalia touchers, so I started blasting.

Alt text - A comic of an androgynous person being asked "Hey are you MALE or FEMALE". The person's response is "Yes." A follow up question being asked "Ok but which do you prefer". Response "Cats" (with a little heart). Another follow up question is being asked "No I mean what's in your pants?!!" The person raises their shirt to show a pistol underneath the waist band of their pants with their response "A gun".

Who in the world said servers are authorized to demand such a thing?

[–] sundray@lemmus.org 305 points 2 days ago (13 children)

She apparently was a self-appointed bathroom gender-inspector. Transphobes feeling bold these days.

They've got the iron fist of a dictatorship behind them.

That's why I bring my ID and passport to restaurants. Gotta prove I'm white, hunkydory, citizen and male. Having to show my dick in public places gets old quick. But then I need to show I'm black or Chinese for other things.

This was by design. Anti-trans fear-mongering was always meant to punish men who don’t look manly enough and women who don’t look like 50s housewives. The cruelty is the point.

[–] Octavio@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

I’m pretty sure it was also meant to punish trans people, but yeah, those things you said as well. That’s a feature, not a bug.

Isn't that just called assault?

It was never about women or safety. It was always about control, fear, and punishment.
