The origial F-Droid app is extremely cumbersome to navigate with a remote. I'm hoping one of the clones has a layout that's more suitable for remote controls.

P.S.: Has anyone tried Obtainium on Android TV yet?

What I do is use scrcpy to navigate apps that aren't navigable via remote. It works pretty well. Just turn on wireless debugging in developer options and adb connect. Then, type scrcpy, and you can control the thing with your laptops mouse and keyboard!

I find droidify is close, it has an issue with getting caught on some bits, but the devs are aware of the issue, Neostore isnt bad, but It seems to crash every so often?

Never tried on a TV. Give Droidify a go.

Droidify didnt work for me. An air mouse is needed for most android things on tv

Having played this game in the past, the solution I found was getting an N95/N100 box and then using KDE Connect to use my phone as a remote. Bonus: all available desktop extensions to shape your experience.
