The downvotes are excessive, but if they have the disposable money to either up that to 2.5 meals per day or spend it on games, who am I to judge which they choose? (As long as they aren't underweight or nutrient deficient) Many people purposely eat One Meal A Day...

There are games that cost like $2-5 on Steam

Unless you spend more labor-hours on cooking vats of rice and dry beans (or similar “low cost, affordable” options) and sticking to that exclusively it’s not going to meaningfully increase the meals you can eat.

As long as OP only has themselves to feed I don’t see an issue with this choice.

Other people have different needs from you. What if they're dieting? What if they just worked a 10 hour shift and need to decompress at home? What if they're disabled and can't go out often? What if they don't have friends?

Let's not make a moral judgment here. There are far worse things to do than playing steam games like drugs, binge drinking, smoking, committing a robbery, etc.

Not to mention there are plenty of games out there being given away for free. Civ VI (all DLCs included) was just given away a few weeks ago. Thing is good for hundreds of hours.

Also, cooking your own food is way, way cheaper than paying others to cook it. And if you cook larger portions, it doesn't take much time to throw a meal you made yesterday into the microwave.
