I don't keep them in the fridge, I've got my own hens and I didn't before when I got shop bought eggs. I have 0 concern about salmonella or anything like that.

The fridge egg holder is for keeping hard boiled eggs, not raw ones.

I use Sync, you can filter key words in any combination of post content, titles, community names and comments.

It won't catch everything, but it clears out enough that I get enough other content to keep me happy. You could also block the specific communities for politics.

I love the way the line breaks fit here. I read this like they drew around the bear to get the perfect shape.

Thank you so much. I wasn't going to remove the brown leaf, but some healthier ones higher up. I'll hold off doing that as well though.

I think it must be too much light then, in which case I know where its new home will be for 3-4 hours light. I have to move the plant tomorrow, as there is some decorating taking place.

All other things you say seem to be in order.

Monstera Help 🥺 (lemmy.world)
submitted 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago) by Luvs2Spuj@lemmy.world to c/houseplants@mander.xyz

I just noticed this, what should I do? Sorry for the vague question but I can't find any good articles on what this is.

Everything I find starts the same way "top 8 reasons for brown leaves". Then says too much water, not enough water, too much light not enough light too much fertilizer not enough, wrong kind of fertilizer and so on and so on. That isn't helpful! Do I just have to guess? Why is all plant knowledge basically voodoo?

I'm tempted to take a cutting so I have a spare to try again if it all goes wrong, but the plant only has 5 leaves, so I'm stressing out.

It was a lesson on free speech. I'm certain there were plenty of talking points and examples but it really isn't the point of this story.

Muslims will remain as part of that topic for as long as they react the way they do about drawings of their imaginary friend, or anything else they try to impose onto everyone else.

Stroll knew the clouds in Brazil were different. After an amazing weekend, he finishes ahead of Albon.

How is this inters conditions?! Scenes!

Looking like this could be Max's greatest race, he seems on another level. The first lap alone was incredible.

Lmao, never change Stroll.

RIP Williams mechanics. Hopefully Albon can still start on the front row.

I'm wondering if we get some further starting grid complications with all these crashes so close to the race. There could be some tricky repairs and possibly either a quota penalty or just not enough time for the mechanics.

First I want to say hello, I have only 3 lovely chickens to start off with as I learn the ropes.

Secondly, my neighbours son is absolutely obsessed with the chickens. It's really nice, but he is also feeding them huge amounts of wild bird seed and I'm a little worried. There are mounds of the stuff being poured over the fence!

I have spoken to his parents nicely and asked them to stop him doing so, which they understand.

In case this doesn't get resolved quickly, is there any danger that this can cause harm to my chickens?

Any idea what this is? Many leaves are dying on the plant, wondering if there is a way to save it. I have forgotten the name of the plant, but will update when I find it.

Edit Ctenanthe Lubbersiana - thanks @squeezeyerbawdy

I have a dreamcatcher which I thought had a dying leaf or something, but it looks like this could be something like seeds!? There is a second pod which isn't open to the left in the picture.

I don't really know what it is but I'm excited about it. My other aglaonema hasn't grown at all in 2 years!

Anyone tuning in at all on the off weekend for F1? It's nice to see some familiar faces in the teams.

I bought a set of three carbon steel pans, and they are amazing. Is this allowed here? They are 99% iron I think.

They are lighter than a full iron pan but you still season them in the same way.

I have had an iron pan dedicated to meat cooking for a few years now, but I'm not sure it will get much use now.

These are new pans, so I'll have to see how they last, but I'm very optimistic.

I get that until recently it was considered normal and relatively cheap, but you are literally paying someone else to make food for you.

It can't be sustainable without exploitation of workers and/or animal welfare to have that available to the majority of people on a regular basis.

If you can only afford fast food as a luxury, to me that seems like a good thing.

I was given a Montsera(?) cutting and I don't really know if this leaf is too wrinkled? It's a minefield trying to read about and understand if I have over or under watered. I just don't know what this plant actually wants.

My usual approach is to assume I have over watered if a plant looks unhappy, but I don't know if these bounce back after a period of under watering, if I hold back on watering more now.
