I once saw somebody suggest voice training during FPS games and my immidiate response was "What the fuck is wrong with you, do you want to INCREASE trans kid suicides?!". Like, yes, you will get honest feedback, but it will largely be from dickheads who have no sympathy.

To be fair, if you have the mental to handle and wade though the dick heads.

You will NEVER get more honest feedback then from a random TF2 or cod lobby.

You WILL learn what to improve on and EXACTLY what you sound like to others with zero filter.

Just... Uhh... I hope to God your mental fortitude rolls are all nat20s cause OOF

that is probably being suggested because it's what Zhea Erose did, she did a lot of voice practice playing Counter-Strike online and made dramatic progress in that time.

She's so influential in the trans voice training scene that I'm fairly confident that's the reason this advice is shared. To be honest, I think it's good advice if you have made enough progress on your voice, and yeah, assuming you have a thick skin and are looking for earnest impressions of your voice.

The uncertainty of the lobby means that its working to a degree, so this is a win in my book.

As an enby, this is my more easily attainable goal. Complete and utter confusion.

let the endless abyss speak through you so nobody knows what you are

This has often been my experience as a ciswoman tbh, the overlap between 12y old boy and grown woman is pretty substantial.

this exact scenario keeps me a hermit

People are meaner online because there is a degree of separation. Obviously, be careful irl, but having local people to support you is essential for long term mental health.

I thought the joke at first was that the "training" was mental toughness because anyone with a feminine voice is going to have to deal with fuckheads.

Sadly not the best environment if the goal is actually voice training.
