True for USSR and Cuba

Not so much in China...

It's absolutely true of China, too, and is getting better all the time. Mao even banned footbinding, and coined the phrase "women hold up half the sky," as referenced by Sankara here.

Today, women in China occupy leading positions in business, science, and politics. In 2023, about 45% of entrepreneurs in China were women, which is one of the highest rates in the world. Access to education has become almost universal, and in many ways, women's educational achievements exceed those of men.

Although politics is still dominated by men, women hold senior positions such as provincial governors and ministers. Nevertheless, there are still very few women in the highest echelons of power, such as the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee.

The limited bride market in China has led to the emergence of the phenomenon of "golden brides" who place excessive demands on potential suitors: an apartment in the center, a car, a gift in the form of a second apartment to the bride's parents, as well as a ransom in the form of five gold jewelry.

New social categories have also appeared: women who did not marry before the age of 27 are called "remnant women", and men who did not marry before 30 are called "remnant men". Society still puts pressure on young people to get married.

To sum up: many things have been improved, many other things need to be improved.

Women hold up half the sky is literally a famous quote by Mao. China absolutely has its issues with patriarchy but much of this is cultural and can't be easily dealt with from the top down (though this was attempted). Things are getting better for women in China as time goes on and there is serious work being put in to accomplish this. Can you say the same for your country?

Women in my country are so liberated they can be prostitutes!

Legalising sex work is essential to sex workers' safety from pimps and trafficking. Every country has sex workers. The difference is whether those sex workers are protected by labour regulations.

I heard a story from a sex worker about women who are desperate to escape their home country, so they sign up for a shady "immigration" service. Turns out, it's a scam and the woman is now essentially a sex slave. She's in the country she wants to be in, but she's an indentured servant at best. The country where this is happening, being an "enlightened" western nation, busts up the sex trafficking and sends the woman back home. To the country she sold herself into sex slavery to escape. That's not justice. That's not helping women. And that's something that can even happen in a place where sex work is legal.

Every postsocialist country rapidly expanded this freedom!
