ahh welcome to the nightmare in cleaning street

Hmm, isn't scent one of those senses tied closely to memory and is permeable to a mattress?

Also, at OP, cleaning wouldn't be too difficult. Lift mattress, apply vacuum hose.

[–] iAvicenna@lemmy.world 3 points 6 days ago

Many double mattresses are super unwieldy and heavy. You try to lift them, they just end up bending from one side, super annoying. your waist also does not thank you after this process.

not my mind, sure as hell not my wife's

[–] SkunkWorkz@lemmy.world 41 points 6 days ago

more like this because my cat is too dumb to find the exit:

[–] Bluewing@lemmy.world 32 points 6 days ago (1 children)

No absolutely not!

The little orange Zip is already dragging socks under the bed to fight. I would never be able to get them back

She is a whirl-wind of terror for sure.

Good luck if your cat shits under the bed

I was just wondering what kind of billionaire mansion people would have to live in to not use the space under their bed for storage

2am

kak kak karrrph karrpugh kak kak kak kaaaaak kbbblorp

Hairball puke pile under my bed.

I mean there's already one there, but i can at least get to it.

Maybe my cats are weird, but I've never really had the 2 am zoomie issue. One spends most of the night by my feet. I don't know what the other two usually do, but if I get up to use the bathroom, I'll often see them lounging in the hallway, like they're holding a meeting.

[–] aeternum@lemmy.blahaj.zone 7 points 6 days ago

Is there a /c/zoomies yet? This would provide the community with content for years

[–] driving_crooner@lemmy.eco.br 6 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago)

More like: Cats at 3AM all over your face.

Yeah, that’s what you need to hear at 2 AM.

[–] lapislazuli@sopuli.xyz 5 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago)

And neither of yous will be getting any sleep. 🙃

[–] Flax_vert@feddit.uk 4 points 6 days ago (1 children)

This'll be great for a rabbit

[–] ickplant@lemmy.world 3 points 6 days ago

One of my dogs would love it too. She is a dachshund and loves hiding and burrowing.

[–] SonOfAntenora@lemmy.world 3 points 6 days ago

Cats do that regardless or do you think they're stand still.

[–] LastWish@lemmy.world 165 points 1 week ago (3 children)

But how hard is it to clean the inevitable fur and hairball puke?

[–] Venator@lemmy.nz 2 points 6 days ago

just keep a bunch of cardboard boxes from deliveries under the bed instead, then you can just throw them away when they get dirty

After having pets for the last 30 years this was my first thought... oh great, another place for them to leave me "presents" (like poop, vomit, dead mice, etc)

[–] navi@lemmy.tespia.org 149 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Exactly this.

I had the bed in OPs meme and it was great at first! My cats loved it, they zoomed through day and night. Then one day I noticed only one of the cats would enter at a time and only while I wasn't looking. Eventually I found out one of our cats was holding politically extreme meetings under the bed which eventually resulted in an attempted coup d'etat.

Anyways, great bed. My cats run my house now and I get to sleep under the bed in a cool maze!

[–] Vytle@lemmy.world 10 points 6 days ago (2 children)

how did you come up with this on the spot? Psychedelics? (Serious question)

[–] Lupus@feddit.org 22 points 6 days ago

Some people just have silly minds. I tirelessly endeavor to be more like them.

[–] navi@lemmy.tespia.org 7 points 6 days ago (1 children)

I was pooping and I had a free minute to practice comedy!

[–] kernelle@lemmy.world 2 points 6 days ago

I'm 90% sure this is how the SCP Foundation was founded

[–] relianceschool@lemmy.world 33 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Seems like you'd just lift up the mattress like they did for this picture.

[–] errer@lemmy.world 57 points 1 week ago (10 children)

Lifting out a mattress to clean is a huge pain in the ass

[–] cynar@lemmy.world 5 points 6 days ago

Some beds have storage underneath. They have a lift mechanism that lifts the whole mattress. If you used one of those as a base, then cleaning gets a lot easier.

[–] kbobabob@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Traditional mattresses need to be rotated/flipped anyway. Also, it's a good idea to clean under the bed occasionally.

[–] kofe@lemmy.world 1 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Wait why do they need to be rotated???

[–] kbobabob@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 6 days ago

It helps them wear more evenly.

the cats are gonna take up the whole bed and then you'll be forced to sleep in the maze

[–] winkly@lemmy.world 38 points 1 week ago

Great place to store small dead animals

[–] Empricorn@feddit.nl 35 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Try to give them medicine once and you'll be lifting the box spring and mattress off late at night! I guarantee it...

My dumbass cats would get lost down there and we'd have to let them out twice a night

[–] bear@lemmy.blahaj.zone 28 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Do you want a spider empire? Because this is how you get a spider empire.

[–] SW42@lemmy.world 32 points 1 week ago

Not if the cat overlords roam the labyrinth. If it moves its free game :)
