Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Having known my husband for over 10 years now, it's having an inherently higher coolness than the rest of us; the world at large isn't prepared to deal this fact.

inherently higher coolness

Ah, autism is nature self-correcting to fight climate change.

I hope it's electricity. The chaos would be engaging.

This is exactly how science normally works. "We've figured out something extremely important, but we aren't going to make it available for a month, so we can build up suspense."

wow what shitty, dangerous rhetoric to spread

I’m sure RFK’s explanation will be something insane like fluoride, but in recent years we have found mounting evidence that autism is caused by a genetically-based cellular malfunction that puts cells into deeply impactful danger response mode (CDR). More importantly, the theory behind this has led to an experimental therapy that has demonstrated almost miraculous results in all participants after one treatment. I’m not sure if it’s too late for an autistic dinosaur like me to see any benefits, but the research on this so far seems overwhelming.

“These are kids who will never pay taxes, they’ll never hold a job, they’ll never play baseball, they’ll never write a poem, they’ll never go out on a date. Many of them will never use a toilet unassisted,” Kennedy said. “Autism destroys families.”

Interesting. As an autistic person in their 50s who have done all of those things and have a family of their own, I’d like to say that he seems to be describing wealthy Republicans rather than autistic people.

And these causes I'm sure will be backed by scientific evidence right? Or are they going to pulled out of rfk maggoty ass?

So I've been thinking about this, and I think he's going to come back saying it's mothers breast milk, and not a contaminant in it, but the very nature of itself.

To solve the issue, everyone will need to migrate to using a special infant formula only Nestlé has.

[–] Montreal_Metro@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 week ago

The cause is RFK jr.

Ooh, this will be good.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

Will this be like "infrastructure week"?

[–] bitwolf@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

It apparently was already done in July without his help.

But he's probably scrambling to pin the blame in something that isn't tied to big oil / plastic.

Oh great, another distraction for the voter base.
