Socialism and communism always sound nice in theory, but in practice they’ve been disasters everywhere they’ve been tried. Full-blown socialist or communist states end up collapsing into corruption, shortages, or authoritarianism, it’s a pattern, not an accident.
Now, that doesn’t mean America’s corporatocracy is working. Far from it, corporate greed, sky-high healthcare costs, and predatory loans are strangling people. But swapping one broken system for another that’s already failed time and time again isn’t the answer.
And let’s be honest, when people say “socialism” here, what they usually mean is social democracy, like in Scandinavia. That’s not communism, it’s just capitalism with tighter guardrails. Big difference.
So if someone really wants the pure socialism/communism model, there are countries still running it. Nobody’s stopping them from moving there and living the reality instead of just dreaming about the theory.
