A lot of things because he's a fucking legend. Clue, Rocky Horror, Fern Gully, this dude was incredible in everything.
90s Memes
I am 1+2+2+1 years old.
....Space!
SHPAAAAAAAYSH
For me, I relate Tim Curry with:
The Rocky Horror Picture Show
Home Alone 2
Command and Coquer: Red Alert
Furngully
Im sure I've seen him in many many other things but those always come to mind. Sad what happened to him though.
Wow, I totally forgot he was in Ferngully!
I know him from lots of different places.
My introduction to Tim Curry was as Rooster in Annie (1982).
Where do i know him from?
EVERYTHING
I'm in my 40s and don't know that guy. Is it some obscure American reference?
Tim Curry is a very famous ~~American~~ British actor who's been in tons of movies throughout our childhood, both kids films and grown up films. He has a very distinct voice and can be extremely silly when he wants to be.
Thanks for providing a name, that finally gave me something to Google.
Apparently he's a British actor though, but starred pretty much only in US productions.
Of all the movies he played in, I've only watched Home Alone 2 where he was the nosey concierge in the hotel, but I didn't recognize him.
Edit: Now that I look again and imagine him without beard, it's getting more obvious. Still never knew he's famous.
Sorry, you're right, he is British. But he became globally famous through Hollywood in the '90s, so he's very well-known here in America. He's also really good at hiding his British accent, so most people (like me) forget he's originally from England.
EDIT: In 2012, he had a stroke that nearly paralyzed him. He now gets around with a wheelchair and struggles to speak. It's a damn shame seeing a brilliant physical comedian reduced to near-paralysis in his old age. He's hardly recognizable nowadays.
He’s just a sweet transvestite.
From transexual Transylvania?
He'll always be Frank N Furter to me Ya, im old
Let's do the time warp again!
You really can't, because a lot of Curry's best works have become timeless classics that have gone on to gain new fans. I certainly wasn't alive for the original theatrical run of Rocky Horror Picture Show or the broadcast of the IT tv series, but they're the first two that come to mind.
You certainly were and are alive for Rocky Horror Picture Show's original theatrical release because it is still on it. It has been continuously shown in theaters since it came out. It is the longest running release in movie history as well as most played movie in terms of numbers of showings in history. And it just had a 4k release for its 50th anniversary, also on its original theatrical run.
Yeah, C&C
The best part is that even he had visible trouble containing his laughter.
when I was younger i thought he was funny, now i think he was justified
Isn’t that guy just a sweet transvestite?
I definitely know his face from Ferngully.
gasp.....ROCKY!!!!
HAHAH……..SPACEEEEE!
Rocky Horror Picture Show.
Of course. I took my uncle to midnight showing, and the guy in front of him heard him disparaging the "hippies" around the theater. When Dr Frank-N-Furter came down the elevator, the guy stood up, and when Dr. F made his reveal, the guy spun around to face my uncle, and yanked his long coat open to reveal a full Dr F costume. It traumatized my uncle for life.
We're none of y'all ever fucking children‽
The worst witch
Ferngully
Muppet Treasure Island!!!
We're none of y'all ever fucking children‽
Ummm…
Yeah, that was some poor phrasing. But your comment made me laugh so I'll refuse to edit it.
"I am going to the one place that hasn't been CORRUPTED by CAPITALISM.... visibly tries not to laugh... SPAAaaAAce!"
Who?
It from 1990. Absolutely horrifying Pennywise
I had to scroll down so far that I started to wonder whether I had to comment it myself.
Rocky horror
Everything. But... Clue, Legend, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Terry Pratchett's The Colour of Magic. Wish I could have seen him on stage (always loved Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, would have been great to see it with him in it).
Fabulous man, wonderful career.
