The Spanish civil war kinda began like this
Endless War
Community critical of US Empire's thirst for endless war, its military and oil oligarchies and colonization of allies.

Right-wing government (1933–1936) section may be your reference? Can you expand on what you mean?
Reading the article you linked made me realise that the Spanish civil war is much more complex than I thought...
So, wrong analogy I guess. There was a lot of fighting before the massive repression by the Spanish government.
The section I pointed out resulted in left wing winning next election. Then the outright coup-> civil war, against that election. Seemed like there could be more details about how much of an asshole that government was.
But the leftwing government was engaged in fuckery before the coup, too ... the whole thing was very complex, and remains a deep wound between people here in Spain.
This is what the 2nd amendment is for. To fight tyranny.
It is, and it isn't. Politicians who are pro 2nd amendment to kill the Leftist scum aren't specifically against their tyranny. Your guns usually are insufficient resistance against regular swat teams, or tank/bomber equipped national guard.
The bigger deal is that the constitution is of zero threat to US government authority. The bill of rights has always been a mere pleasantry to make you think you are free. Rebellion is not something agreeable to government, and therefore, you must be killed to actually apply the anti-tyranny interpretation of 2nd amendment.
I'm not going to sit here and pretend that 2a means shit to the future of any leftist movement in the US. They certainly won't be used to overthrow any tyrants but they may slow them down a bit.
FWIW I would have to disagree that guns are not efficient resistance against SWAT.
There are plenty of cases to point to where the feds had quite a hard time because of a couple dudes with rifles. Sure the feds usually end up "winning" but it would have taken a lot less time and energy to do what they did at Waco or Ruby Ridge if the only people who were armed were the feds.
On that note, you don't really ever hear about ICE going after actual armed cartel members and I wonder if that's just because they are chicken shit little babies that only want to bully people they can outgun?
Seems like just the idea that they might lose one or two "good men" in the process goes a long way in preventing bullies (chicken shit little babies) from bullying.
So Trump is starting a civil war? Because when you send troops to your own territory and call it a war, that's a civil war.
Yes. But very weird. There is no rebellion/protest to qwell. Are these troops actually going to stop crime???? At "best:, they will track down and kidnap some brown people. It is yet another non-national emergency where troops have no impact on the pretense of the national emergency. Pisses off urban voters typically against GOP, while wasting spending to only provide "own the libs" gratification to MAGA base, but not helping anyone. Somehow, if Trump does 30 pointlessly abusive things simultaneously, they all cancel each other out.
It's not really the department of war any more than it's the gulf of America.
Just because Trump want it to be doesn't mean the rest of the world has to play along with his stupid games.
It's a bit different. Gulf of Mexico does not have any letterhead.
But, DoD has propaganda value in pretending its not the department of Offense. Trump is explicitly saying here that he's declaring war on Chicago. Instead of pretending to Defend Chicago "for their own good".
