Do we have any idea who has gotten to see the Epstein files? We should be pressuring/threatening for their release.

These are child rapists we're talking about. Anyone who protects a child rapist is just as culpable.

The repedocan party

5. “I haven’t seen it”—Jim Jordan

On brand.

[–] Corn@lemmy.ml 15 points 8 hours ago

If you live in one of those states, write or print a physical letter asking them why they voted not to release the epstein list. Explicitly ask for a response. You will almost certainly get one.

I gotchu, fam. Copied straight from the article:

Here is the name of every Republican who voted to block the Epstein Files Transparency Act on Tuesday.

  • Virginia Foxx—North Carolina
  • Michelle Fischbach—Minnesota
  • Ralph Norman—South Carolina
  • Chip Roy—Texas
  • Nicholas Langworthy—New York
  • Austin Scott—Georgia
  • H. Morgan Griffith—Virginia
  • Brian Jack—Georgia

If Democrats weren't spineless bitches they'd run ads of these names nationally and hammer all of Republicans on this issue 24/7.

If Democrats could muster half the energy Republicans had for Obama's tan suit we might actually have a chance to win something.

[–] 3abas@lemmy.world 4 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

They can, they just don't want to. They'll only go as far as they can get away, it's all performative. They don't want the files released either, and they're all too happy for the republicans to take the fall and to simply say "we didn't have the votes".

If they did want to release them, like you said, they'd do more than the bare minimum.

Or fucking Biden would have done it. The fact that he didn't goes to show how bipartisan child rape is!

[–] killeronthecorner@lemmy.world 18 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

I'm surprised the list is so short tbh, did others vote in favour or abstain?

[–] puntyyoke@lemmy.world 26 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

It was a committee vote to bring the bill to the house floor for a full vote. Of the 12 member committee, the 8 Republicans voted against it.

[–] killeronthecorner@lemmy.world 4 points 9 hours ago

Ah my misunderstanding, thank you

[–] Tolookah@discuss.tchncs.de 3 points 8 hours ago

Ah, so this is the Epstein list, now we just need the full list.

[–] ProfThadBach@lemmy.world 11 points 10 hours ago

Virginia Fox isn't even from NC but yet once again my people are more than willing to let an outsider dictate how we should live. WNC needs to do better but the anti-intellectual mouth breathers from the hollar can't see past their bullshit prosperity gospel to see what these people really are. They are like the soy farmers. They will vote hate as long as it does not affect them and even if it does they will still choose hate.

[–] Zexks@lemmy.world 15 points 11 hours ago

Sounds like a list of pedophiles to me

[–] whiwake@lemmy.cafe 17 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

Now, we should go to their homes and stand outside and scream. If they feel unsafe, they’re likely to think twice

[–] gravitas_deficiency@sh.itjust.works 17 points 11 hours ago* (last edited 11 hours ago) (2 children)

I like this. Not anything coherent. Not a chant. Just screaming. Constant, enraged, veins-standing-out-on-your-neck, blood-curdling screaming. A scream serenade. I scream. You scream. We all scream. Because fuck you, you psychopathic assholes.

[–] whiwake@lemmy.cafe 4 points 5 hours ago

A scream-in. We all camp outside the house and just go for it. Maybe we can record some of it and play it back when we need a break.

Obviously we would all have megaphones and earplugs.

AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

[–] unconsequential@slrpnk.net 4 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

I feel most of the US could use a good collective primal scream therapy session, this could really take off.

[–] whiwake@lemmy.cafe 1 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

Screaming is just angry crying! 🤪

[–] unconsequential@slrpnk.net 3 points 5 hours ago

We could all use a good collective cry too. Just let it aaaaaaall out.

[–] schnokobaer@feddit.org 18 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

Does Virginia Foxx not have a real name? Why use her porn star name?

[–] unconsequential@slrpnk.net 3 points 6 hours ago

I keep saying this. Like who is writing this season? I can’t take headlines seriously half the time because they seriously sound made up. Like, we’re all trapped in a season of the Truman show and all the writers are on strike.

[–] reddig33@lemmy.world 22 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

Chip Roy (TX) wouldn’t have a job without gerrymandering.

[–] SuiXi3D@fedia.io 5 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

I doubt any repuglicunt would.

[–] Phunter@lemmy.zip 5 points 12 hours ago

Perhaps you have too much faith in complacent American morons. Apologies for being repetitive.

[–] nullPointer@programming.dev 9 points 14 hours ago

more accurately: a list of repugs that know they are on the list.
