Just as I was complaining that there's been fewer tech finds, along comes this. Sure, it's over ten years old and pretty basic, and the price is just fair, when you consider shipping it's good. It's pretty much new in the box, with the original AA batteries (soon to be replaced by some USB AAs). There are two receivers in there too, and a USB dongle I believe for RC simulators.

I haven't played with RC crap in a long time, I have an old quadcopter somewhere this will work with (I hope?).

Dx6 is an amazing radio. I was always a Futaba kind of guy, but Spektrums were nice.

It certainly feels good in the hands, but whoever had this had an aftershave fetish, which makes me gag. I'll have to leave it in the sun tomorrow.

I wouldn't use rechargeable batteries in your transmitter. If the voltage drops too low and you have a plane in the air, that could spell disaster. I use rechargeable batteries in a lot of things, and they are just too flaky from my experience to use in something like this.

Sir, these are USB rechargeables.

Are you saying that makes a difference? All I know is that most rechargeables run at a slightly lower voltage than alkaline or lithium of the same type. It's a good radio, and you got a good deal. I use a DX6 as my trainer radio hooked to a Taranis. Has worked flawlessly in the past in that configuration. I think I have a DX5 somewhere that I was using as a main radio for some planes, also no issues with it either.

Interdasting! Those look good. I may have to stand corrected on this. Good find.

It's probably a bit of column A, a bit of column B. The flight time of anything I have is far below the run time of the radio.

OTOH, these USB batteries just ... die. One nanosecond they're at 1.5V, the next, not anymore.
