I'm going to say something that will not improve the context of the image.

These are supposed to be used on children.

[–] Ruiner13@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago

One cuff is attached to the parent and the other to a child. Like in movies where a briefcase is handcuffed to a courier, the only difference is that one is a plot device and the other is Walmart making money off child abuse.

Like those leashes some parents use?

[–] Ilovethebomb@sh.itjust.works 37 points 2 days ago (2 children)

That's exactly what they are, kid leashes.

[–] wreckedcarzz@lemmy.world 20 points 2 days ago (1 children)

20 years later, in therapy: "do you have any memory when this desire started?" "well I think it started when my mom got these weird handcuffs and used them so I wouldn't run away..."

[–] somerandomperson@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Wdym "this desire"? I don't get how will this be used.

[–] TriflingToad@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

i regret asking now.

[–] Korne127@lemmy.world 8 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I remember when I was in Disneyland my sister put a dog leash on my trousers so I would not run away (I was told because of child trafficking in Paris)

[–] justme@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Sounds like a good idea, I got lost for hours, every single time we visited that place xD

[–] Korne127@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

~~Well but now I'm into puppyplay~~

[–] HoneyMustardGas@lemmy.world 26 points 2 days ago (2 children)

They looked like something a kink couple on a budget might use.

[–] cRazi_man@europe.pub 38 points 2 days ago (5 children)

Practically speaking, these would be completely unsuitable for that use. An extensible cord that goes over a meter long doesnt really restrain anyone.

[–] HoneyMustardGas@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

Under the bed and around it.

[–] BCsven@lemmy.ca 5 points 2 days ago

Its fine if the attachment point is a Meter away

[–] icelimit@lemmy.ml 2 points 2 days ago

Just zip tie the loops.

Forehead tap

[–] SendMePhotos@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago

Gives you room to hang the cord

[–] RickyRigatoni@retrolemmy.com 3 points 2 days ago

Wrap them up in the cord first

[–] Fluffy_Ruffs@lemmy.world 9 points 2 days ago (2 children)

What use would two handcuffs with a 3-foot long cord between them serve? I mean I get what you're implying but these wouldn't restrain anyone in any meaningful way.

[–] HoneyMustardGas@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

Under the bed and around it to the corners. Use two sets one for feet. You gotta be creative.

[–] lime@feddit.nu 4 points 2 days ago (1 children)

one cuff on the top-right bedpost, one on the bottom left

[–] TachyonTele@piefed.social 6 points 2 days ago

But then how are they supposed to shake hands?

[–] glitch1985@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

If I'm a male and the child is a girl what color do we need to use?

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

Google "Tom of Finland"

[–] RedGreenBlue@lemmy.zip 34 points 2 days ago (2 children)

So you don't get static shocks, from your friend, when you are hanging out.

[–] synapse1278@lemmy.world 11 points 2 days ago

I only engage in ESD-safe friendships.

[–] zedgeist@lemmy.world -3 points 2 days ago

So you don't add, unnecessary commas, to your post.

[–] Jomega@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Since everybody here but me seems to know, what exactly are these?

[–] modus@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

It's a leash for your child.

[–] Jomega@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

Oh. That's disappointing. I was expecting weirder.

[–] MissJinx@lemmy.world 14 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (1 children)

I don't care what yall.think, this would have saved Harambe and the whole timeline

[–] duhlieluh@lemmy.zip 1 points 21 hours ago

fuck you might be right

[–] Fiivemacs@lemmy.ca 7 points 2 days ago (1 children)

what not pink/blue combo ones?

[–] wreckedcarzz@lemmy.world 7 points 2 days ago (1 children)

No straight people allowed, only gay. Sorry, I don't make the rules.

[–] Fiivemacs@lemmy.ca 4 points 2 days ago

colour doesn't define sexual preferences. I don't accept your response :(

[–] HorreC@lemmy.world 6 points 2 days ago

New friendship bracelets just hit who wants one!

[–] Jeraxus@lemmy.sdf.org 4 points 2 days ago

Good but hide at least the Walmart logo please
