Mod Abuse:

https://lemmy.world/modlog/1432313?page=1&actionType=All

The instance has 3 active subs, it's unlikely the admins are not also the mods engaging in this.

Banning anyone who downvotes is a clear attempt to foster a chilling effect on dissenting opinions. The mods and admins of this instance are putting their thumb on the scales in order to make their ideas appear more positively received than they actually are.

Thanks for your attention to this.

EDIT: the mod responsible for these actions has been caught voting multiple times using a variety of sockpuppet accounts.

They banned me too. This feels like obvious vote manipulation to me. A small group of individuals or one prolific sock puppeteer is spreading conservative news articles of the Heritage Foundation. People are rejecting the message but mod(s) want to strong arm their opinion onto the rest of us. Hiding behind "serial downvoting" is an excuse so they can ban any dissenting opinions while screeching about the left shutting them down. They've been running that same bag on lemmy.today for as long as DonaldJMusk has had an account. They must have gotten tired of the downvotes and rebooted their comm somewhere else under a new name to liven things up. But it failed.

They're dragging the name of the original !conservative2@lemmy.today through the mud. The comm wanted to make a space for non-MAGA Republicans and saw a bit of success (compared to other GOP comms) and now it's just another source of Heritage/MAGA propaganda.

That community you’re talking about is the exact same person doing a bit though.

Yea, +1 for defederation, clearly an attempt to make right-wing nut ideas seem more accepted on the Threadiverse than they are

[–] Lost_My_Mind@lemmy.world 22 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Oh my god. This is like the ah-ha moment for me for what potential the fediverse has in the future.

Although I feel like we're so early in the concept, that 20 years from now "fediverse" as a concept will be common, but "fediverse" as a term will be as obsolete as "webrings" are today.

But basically this takes away power from the wealthy. They can't just buy their message being heard. They can create an instance, but if everyone defederates, then no one hears the message.

And since a lot of activities, as well as the mod logs, are public, it's difficult to engage in similar Tom-fuckery seen elsewhere!

As another almost immediate banee by Donald_J_Musk and conservative2, you have my backing. The excuses given were blatant bullshit.

These guys claim to run it from the USA, but there all in Eastern Europe/russia.

Oh we finally got an actual conservative instance... and of course they get their fee fees hurt by downvotes.

Free Speech for me but not for thee.

Good catch.

EDIT:

This instance also has its own SatansMaggotyCumFart user, with its own AI generated avatar, as well as a profile that describes itself as a bunch of insane nonsense, but more importantly, claims to be 'the only real' profile.

In case people are unaware, SMCF is more or less a dedicated gimmick/joke sccount that's been on lemmy for a while, a clear parody account.

(well, sometimes they break character, but, you get the idea)

A bit of a staple of the lemmyverse.

This appears to be a clear attempt at impersonating them.

Put this all together and this instance seems to me to be some kind of a psyop; foreign, domestic, (from the standpoint of the US), who knows, but its very clear that deceit and manipulation are the entire point of this instance.

[–] cm0002@lemmy.world 11 points 1 week ago

Oh we finally got an actual conservative instance

HilariousChaos beat them to that, HC is basically a "Nicer Friendlier ExplodingHeads"

Though at least HC is a real instance and not some sort of manipulation attempt

[–] regedit@lemmy.zip 14 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Blocked the instance! Thanks for the report.

[–] uhmbah@lemmy.ca 3 points 1 week ago

Ditto.

On a separate note: "regedit" hehe, those were the days...

On the flip side it was nice to have a dedicated space at r/TheDonald to peak under the hood and see what they were thinking/spinning. But I agree it would be best to have that on its own.

That entire instance is suspect.
