Wait till you read about the meme wars. This goes deeper than most people know.

the normalization of nazi culture makes me want to fucking die

The fuckers can carry on knocking each other off and Vlad should advise them to use the 6th floor windows and balconies instead of bullets.

Context? What's the other faction? The first one is likely https://wiki.froth.zone/wiki/Groypers?lang=en but I dunno the second.

[–] thaklor@lemmy.world 12 points 4 hours ago

The other faction got shot in the neck.

This isn't even getting to the part where Nick Fuentes gets red in the face arguing that he's definitely a real incel, and denying accusations that he secretly gets laid.

[–] BlueCanoe@lemmy.ca 2 points 54 minutes ago

I wonder if he found a cute catboy earlier in life he would have turned out differently

From what I'm gathering, it seems like one group is more "traditionally" American racism... And the other group is more like WW2 Nazi racists?

Either way, they're racists and not worth the oxygen they're consuming.

Can I just continue to have incredible distain for all racism? Because I'd hate to be branded as a sympathizer to either group. They both sound horrible.

The only surprising thing to me here is that racists hate eachother enough for this level of violence. I don't necessarily consider that a bad thing, I just thought they would... I dunno, bond over their mutual hatred of other races, rather than fight eachother over who is more racist.

... Not that I'm complaining. Having racists kill other racists makes it easier to fight against the groups that remain. Both groups of racists deserve to be put down. Not that I have the ability, capability, opportunity nor motivation to do that work myself..... I'm just not going to complain when one group kills the other, and the first group ends up in jail for life because of it. Honestly, that's an absolute win IMO.

Authoritarians, which are not unrelated to racism, if left alone, will start stripping rights from each other. In a spherical cow sense, they can't really bond with each other because they fundamentally hate other people, like as a concept. This is also sorta why their social media sites never take off.

Edgelords that treat their racism and violence as fuel for shitposts

vs.

Traditional "Brick and mortar and nooses" racists

So the one thing about fascism, especially in its late stages, is that it tends to eat itself alive. When they run out of enemies, they create enemies.

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 36 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

late stage

You are far more optimistic than I, my friend.

[–] abbiistabbii@lemmy.blahaj.zone 14 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

I mean the government isn't necessarily late stage but if the fascists are fighting over who's the biggest fascist that means shit's up.

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 20 points 13 hours ago* (last edited 13 hours ago)

Maybe, but authoritarian regimes do often purge their ranks, and it doesn't always mean anything significant is going down.

[–] TranscendentalEmpire@lemmy.today 23 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

While I agree fascist tend to indulge in self harm via factionalism, I don't think this is really that, nor is it late stage. We're approaching the stage where the fascist shed their traditional conservative mask and start enforcing their real ideology over the traditional conservative party.

People forget that 4 years before the Nazi started their purge on greater German society during Kristallnacht they first purged and consolidated power in their own house during the night of the long knives.

[–] grrgyle@slrpnk.net 6 points 7 hours ago

This is it.

The "true believers" in neoliberal conservative values are useful to make the rightward march to increasingly reactionary politics seem proper and reasonable to anyone who isn't paying attention.

But when shit is about to go down those same talking heads are a liability if they aren't cool with barely contained barbarism.

My one consolation over finding out about this whole fight between different groups of fascists (besides the fact that the fascists are fighting each other, that's always a net positive) is that I can refer to it as gang violence.

Kirk was killed in a turf war between his gang and a rival gang immediately after trying to downplay mass shootings by asking "with or without gang violence?"

[–] 000@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

Wasn't he saying something about "gang violence" literally the moment he got shot?

His literal last words before being shot were answering the question of if he knew how many shootings there have been in the past 10 years (after blaming them on trans people one question before) with, "With or without gang violence?" Not even a second later he had a fountain of blood spurting from his neck.
