I hope you have a massive Bruce Chocolate cake!!!!

[–] Olap@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I totally should have, would have been better than my overbaked lemon cake. I doubled the recipe and then had trouble with timing sadly :( kids are very forgiving at least

Wishing a speedy reconciliation for you and the lady. Work being stressful can be a right bastard for exacerbating that kind of situation

Work need to reshuffle every 6 months so top level leadership look like they are doing something. I'm in a fairly big org, my first this size as a permy, is it common?

I couldn't say, I've never had more than couple years at a big one myself, and even then I was not particularly keen to pay any attention to any upper-level office politics if it didn't directly affect me

Mornin. What's Sunday holding for you this week?

[–] Z3k3@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Sit in the living room. Date the dog out for the occasional walk. Pretty chill day. You?

Busy enough with the kids really. Sitting watching Revenge of the Sith with the kids now. I saved it for after watching The Clone Wars with them, going very well so far!

The McRae event at Knockhill was great fun. I have now personally witnessed a 79 year old man get actual air time in a 59 year old Mini Cooper

No messing about with lunch either. Homemade bread brushed with butter, black pepper, and rosemary. Filling is peppers, aubergine, courgette, and tomatoes sliced thin, salted, and grilled, a good layer of emmental, and then some homemade olive tapenade

Two large homemade sandwiches

[–] Olap@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

That is an actually epic sandwich, great to see such effort. Gonna make some bread today, you've inspired me!

Oooh, do share a pic of it. I love a good bit of bread

Six seed from Wessex Mill, dead simple, but dead good

[–] Skua@kbin.earth 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Oh that looks absolutely perfect for dipping into some soup on a cold day. I'll try that recipe out myself!

Wessex Mills flour is phenomenal. Sadly Golspie Mill packed it in a few years ago, as I was getting into bread making. Mungoswells is fine I've found, but the pre-mixed variety here gives great results every time. Enjoy!
