St Peter at the gate be like why are your pupils so dilated?

[–] Jakeroxs@sh.itjust.works 19 points 2 days ago (3 children)

That sounds kinda horrible

You'd have to really be onto it, which would be difficult because you're dying. I'd guess there's some small percentage of people that could enjoy this but this definitely sounds like a bad idea.

Yeah but if you asked me to name who would be that into it Aldous Huxley would be my second guess after Hunter S. Thompson

Honestly, especially if you're doing an assisted suicide LSD could be a great way to do it. After you mentally become one with the universe and let the self slip away you discard your body. I really think having control of your death is vital for it to be a pleasant death rather than a horrible one though

Yeah that sounds very Huxley. Though I've only read island so far.

Bad trip. I'd choose heroine in his place.

That's what makes it so baller, bro said "I have confronted existential dread and won"

No, LSD makes you see things based on how you feel. If you feel safe and at ease, it will be good. If you're about to die, either you're eager for it or the nightmares you'll live through will be hell.

Unless you are really prepared for death, and not particularly afraid.

[–] SARGE@startrek.website 3 points 2 days ago

Whether you think you're prepared or not, you will find out once your trip is in full swing.

I'd like to think I'd be prepared if I knew it was coming, but I'm sure if there was even the smallest little bits of "oh god please no" left in me, it's coming out right around the time I start seeing leaves on trees swirl together.

I'd imagine dying of cancer would be good. It's painful and can be pretty slow, I imagine death would be welcomed

I think he did thousands of mics IV too. Pretty fucking impressive (and given Island, not very surprising)

The biography I have on my shelf says he asked his wife for "100 micrograms intramuscular"

Ahh I'm pulling my "facts" out of 20 year old memory so will trust your book more than my memory.
