The 17-year-old suspect from Garwood — a son of a retired police officer and the nephew of the Westfield police chief — was charged Wednesday with the first-degree murders of Maria Niotis and Isabella Salas.

Relatives of Niiotis said the teen had been stalking her for months — something the teen suspect acknowledged on livestreams of his MLB co-op games, which attracted thousands of followers on TikTok.

What's extra fucked up is before the murder happened the family tried to get help from the police but they didn't do anything because the MAGA psycho is from a cop family.

[–] TrojanRoomCoffeePot@lemmy.world 164 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Further proof that many cops aren't accidentally useless, they'll jerk themselves off about protecting their community, but readily deny assistance to someone that they can justify not giving a fuck about. Fucking pieces of shit, they hung those two girls out to dry while they were being actively stalked.

They did something: they immediately distanced themselves from him once the news picked up this story. The reporting is terrible bc a lot is via NJ.com which is a garbage site but he is the nephew of the chief of police (his dad, the chiefs brother, is also a cop), and the chief was very quick to make a statement that was basically like “hey fuck this kid, not my family (except he literally is)”.

He also initially got away with it. Despite the fact that she had a restraining order and a history of issues with this boy he runs her and her friend down in cold fucking blood going 3x the speed limit. So what do the cops do? Give him 15 tickets and let him go home of course. And what does he do? Immediately livestreams and talks about the crime like he didn’t just straight up murder them.

I mean maybe I’m crazy but this reeks of Elliot Rodger misogynist incel shit. People just want literally everything to be politics now. Tbf that is more right wing but it’s not necessarily political as much as it’s nihilism. I’m sure the Charlie Kirk thing was true but it’s probably the spark that set off the misogynistic bomb. Like he wasn’t going out to murder libs, if that makes sense? He was looking for an excuse to murder this girl that he felt owed him sex or whatever. Real bad shit

3x the speed limit is also 8x the kinetic energy, which for a 2,000 kg vehicle is about 1 Mega-joules

Once again, we do absolutely nothing until it's too late.

Yeah, when it's a hater like kirk being killed, suddenly he gets a day of rememberance, but when two innocent women get killed by a MAGAt, suddenly there's NO media coverage at all

Anyone wanna bet that he gets a slap on the wrist and a "don't do it again" because he's a MAGAt?

[–] ArmchairAce1944@discuss.online 14 points 2 days ago

The extent of how they reacted to Kirk's death was fucking insane. It happened right on the eve of the 24th anniversary of 9/11 and... no one on the right gave a fuck! They just forgot about it and all acts of remembrance were entirely for that fucker and not the thousands of people who died that day.

Best I can do is a medal and "do it again, but apologize next time".

This guy is being charged as a minor? Come the fuck on. He is 17! Charge this guy as an adult and put him away for life. No room for people like this in soceity.

[–] SparroHawc@lemmy.zip 93 points 3 days ago (1 children)

He's the son of a cop. We're lucky he isn't just getting administrative leave.

[–] FearMeAndDecay@literature.cafe 24 points 3 days ago

I’m sure he’ll get a job offer to join the family business soon enough

[–] merdaverse@lemmy.zip 19 points 3 days ago

I mean, he would fit perfectly in ICE

Ahh, so he targeted a few defenseless young females. That's about as masculine as MAGAts get

[–] WoodScientist@lemmy.world 27 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Sure. But why are you, a Ferengi, posting on Lemmy? Don't you have some profit you should be out earning? How do you plan to gain entrance to the Divine Treasury at this rate?

Also, you owe me $225 in consulting fees for posting this comment.

I'll never understand what do Trump cultists/Kirk stans get out of being empathy deprived peons. They present the other side as weak but they are either in collectives with rapists, abusers or murders. That loser cut those two girls lives short for nothing.

[–] vivalapivo@lemmy.today 5 points 2 days ago

A lot of unravel here.

  1. They assume the position of the victim. The victim is not responsible for their action, they're just defending.

  2. They love the position of power. They fetishize the power. They see that the power rules the world (which is hard to deny) and they treat it as a sacred entity, even if the power doesn't lead to the ruling. It's like the famous weird scene from Starship Troopers where kids were contributing in war by smashing small earthly roaches.

  3. They just want to conform, to be recognized as the part of the society. They're afraid to be abandoned.

Overall, it could be 1, 2, 3, 1+2, 1+3.

The existence of such people is inevitable in a system that is basically free for all battle royale.

[–] DarkSideOfTheMoon@lemmy.world 36 points 3 days ago (5 children)

Why this is not heavily covered in the news? What is going on?

[–] HalfSalesman@lemmy.world 13 points 3 days ago

Because Trump is president and mainstream news has been essentially directly threatened by him.

[–] WorldsDumbestMan@lemmy.today 9 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Idk if you noticed the extra-legal nazi takeover of USA? Are you not aware we live in a post-truth, post-law, post-rights world?

[–] Tinidril@midwest.social 3 points 2 days ago

I noticed that at least 20 years ago, and not because it started then.

[–] Seefoo@lemmy.world 6 points 3 days ago

Not to naysay, the dude is a "nice guy" PoS. But the link is tenuous at best at the moment. its a clip of him saying one of the girls is a dumb ass for a tiktok video she shared that was negative towards charlie kirk.

Basically, it seems he was a stalker and killed her (and her friend) for some reason, but I doubt the kirk thing was the main reason. Motive is not clear yet, other than the obvious parts (stalking, probably liked her, but got rejected, she may have gotten a recent BF, jeolous, various anti-female other sentiments).

Another case of femicide, men killing women because they think they owe them and should be punished when they don't follow. Absolutely disgusting mindset, no wonder lots of women avoid dark alleys or travelling alone. And even that doesn't help them enough, obviously...

i am unsure how is that guy not an enemy combatant while some dude in a fishing boat off of the coast of Venezuela is an enemy combatant.

[–] Sanctus@lemmy.world 64 points 3 days ago

Well he was on the right, you see. They can't be enemies of the state even when Trump is goading them into violence because they are on the right team.

I fucken hate it here.

Thank GOD he wasn't Trans! OTHERWISE Murdering Two Children in Revenge for your Favorite Political Figure would be BAD NEWS and TERRORISM! THIS American was just a Misguided Good Christian (UNLESS we Find out he knew a Trans Person once!)!

[–] betanumerus@lemmy.ca 16 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

Violent MAGAs are woke flakes. (And I don't know what that means any more than they do.)

[–] TheObviousSolution@lemmy.ca 19 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

Guy shared a much closer cultural tie to Tyler Robinson than he did with the people he killed. From a family involved in law enforcement, from a culture of guns and hate. Unlike Tyler Robinson, the guy will probably get the George Zimmerman treatment because it's not where it's coming from but whom it affects. US in a nutshell.

Is trans or LGBTQ?

Yes-> You see, these people are mentally ill, he has been stalking these poor girls for months too.

No->

Is he or family democrat?

Yes-> Figures since democrats are known to endorse violence

No-> Those girls got what they deserved for talking shit about Charlie Kirk who would have forgiven that poor boy.

[–] Donkter@lemmy.world 24 points 3 days ago (8 children)

No-> he was a poor lost soul struggling with mental health issues. This act of random unmotivated lone-wolf violence was brought on because he couldn't get a job because an immigrant took it.

Stalking them and the family tried to get the cops to help and allegedly the cops did nothing because the father is a cop and is related to the chief.

[–] suicidaleggroll@lemmy.world 22 points 3 days ago

the cops did nothing because the father is a cop

They should be charged as accessories. After all, that’s what they would do if a civilian knew about a murder plot and decided not to tell anyone about it.

So that’s two people’s lives taken to punish them for laughing at another’s death.

So far I have not heard of any killing due to someone taking the mockery too seriously.

The condemnation of the mockery has just taken two lives. So those who think violence is never okay, their extreme, pearl clutching reaction is just as bad as mockery (or in this case worse).

[–] TheLowestStone@lemmy.world 20 points 3 days ago

According to the article, he stalked one of the girls for months. This clearly had very little to do with Charlie Kirk.

[–] minorkeys@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

While the President of the US states he wants to criminalize the wrong political beliefs.

[–] Joeffect@lemmy.world 34 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago) (1 children)

he was stalking the girl, he was upset because he didn't get his way... he found an excuse to harm her... it wasn't because he was Maga, it was because she didn't see how perfect he was for her or some bullshit like that
