I followed through and wrote two books. Currently working on my third.
Nice, congrats on not giving up. What genre, what kind of story is it ?
My first was a fantasy novel and my second was horror shorts. The current one is a revenge story.
I never get that far. Every 5 years or so I get it in my head that I want to create a story, then I get two sentences down and immediately think "who the fuck am I to be writing something!? Pretentious douche." So I stop.
It's coming up on 5 years, maybe I'll write another sentence and berate myself again lol
I wasn't horrified when I found it, so apparently normal.

I made a lot of personal websites as a teenager back in the late 90s and as I got older I wished I had kept back ups of them for nostalgia's sake.
I found some when the various Geocities archives went online and I immediately changed my mind on the whole nostalgia thing. If I could go back in time, I'd strangle my 15 year old self with his own Tool t shirt.
I made a website full of bad poetry and short sob stories. Thankfully it wasn't preserved by any of the sites that archived Geocities after its collapse and is now lost forever.
I started a "choose your own adventure" book but as a website with art I created in Photoshop. Created maybe a half-dozen pages then lost steam.
Don't think I have it anymore
I basically wrote Jurassic Park fanfic, but as a series of "scripts" where I was one of the kids. It was basically the same plot as the first movie, except I inserted myself and also shipped myself with the girl from that movie, including an entire "scene" where we discussed at length how we were not related and could kiss if we wanted to but would wait until we were older.
That's kind of sweet... but also kind of awkward.
Also feels like there's a lot of baggage to unpack there with the focus on relation... Like it can't be normal to have to establish you arnt related right? The default shouldn't be that you are related when it comes to relationships...
Sorry, I was too busy drafting plans and schematics to blow up my elementary school and getting caught by the principal and subsequently expelled to write my trilogy.
I was selling bomb plans I downloaded off of BBS' to the kid who was doing this at tremendous personal profit. We got busted when he ran his mouth about it. Had to talk to the cops but didn't get kicked out of school.
Yeah, it was supposed to be for just like three months, but my mom didn't want to put me into their remedial school because she would have to drive me, so instead she paid for me to go to a private Christian school for the rest of my high school.
Honestly, it was a good thing because I had no friends at that school. I was ostracized for being weird and I was weird because I was mentally ahead of all of my classmates, but emotionally and socially behind all of them.
Which is also ironic because on two separate occasions the school offered to skip me two grades out of fear that I would be intellectually understimulated, and therefore more prone to truancy and other bad behaviours like architecting plans to destroy my school with a fire bomb but my mom held me back out of fear that I would be emotionally and socially behind my peers, and despite that, I still ended up graduating a year ahead of my class and architecting plans to destroy my school with a fire bomb while being emotionally and socially behind my peers.
One thing in my defense, I planned on doing it at like two o'clock in the morning when nobody was there.
I was not attempting or thinking or hoping that anybody would be harmed by the action. I just wanted to get rid of the school because it was a never-ending source of misery for me nine months out of the year, and my 11-year-old brain could not comprehend any solution that did not involve destroying the source of the problem.
Hah, I printed out and sold sailor moon internet porn to a kid from school, who got caught with it and snitched, but we weren't really close friends so I just said I didn't know what he was talking about.
lol I used to make up languages.
I had notebooks of weird glyphs and writing schemes.
All the things from my childhood including photos were destroyed though, so I can’t go back and decode them.
Put me down on the horrified side.
I did wrote the entire first book in a planned trilogy ! but never finished the second. I got too amphibious
No but I did start writing a memoir.
