Elon Musk has backed the deployment of federal troops to San Francisco, claiming in a gung-ho post that it is “the only solution” to the city’s drug problem.

Musk, who spearheaded mass layoffs through the so-called Department of Government Efficiency before he exited the White House in May, said downtown San Francisco is “a drug zombie apocalypse.”

His remarks follow his departure from the Trump administration following a public feud with Donald Trump and allegations that Musk himself was using drugs when he was funneling millions into the Republican’s 2024 presidential campaign. He denied the allegations and said they were “lies.”

Just had dinner in North Beach. Out on the side walk. Had a lovely time as always. What the fuck are these people on? There are seedy streets in the city. Sure. But overall San Francisco is peaceful.

Wait so billionaire piece of shit who is constantly tripping all day demands war on drugs… against the people who stopped buying his trash vehicles is somehow correct?

I guess the regime isn’t imprisoning enough minorities fast enough for his puppeteers.

Daily reminder:

During a news conference with FIFA President Gianni Infantino in March 2025, U.S. President Donald Trump said, "They rigged the election, and I became president."

San Francisco was fine until the tech bros came in and priced everyone out. Poverty creates mental illness and that fuels addiction. Might get better if these tech bros paid taxes at a 90% rate like they would have in the 1950’s and we used that to fund universal healthcare but they seem to be pushing for a genocide instead. Who would have guessed that giving hundreds of billions of dollars to racist/sexist apartheid South Africans would be bad for America? /s

[–] Gammelfisch@lemmy.world 6 points 12 hours ago

Boot out the neo-Nazi sack of shit drug addict back to South Africa.

[–] AnimalsDream@slrpnk.net 5 points 12 hours ago (2 children)

I hope I'm wrong but I fully believe a crackdown on cannabis is coming.

[–] 3abas@lemmy.world 2 points 10 hours ago

Look at the "medical cannabis" industry in Florida... That's where it's going. They will eliminate the farm bill and introduce more shitty moldy corporate weed that costs an arm and a leg with no taxes.

2016 AND 2020 Liberals on social media were like "could you PLEASE stop fear-mongering, none of us are happy about this administration but there's no point in making up this kind of nonsense and riling people up for no reason. They won't take away abortion, medical care, porn, video games or pot, what political leader would do something so dumb as to make the people mad at them?"

[–] sturmblast@lemmy.world 3 points 11 hours ago (2 children)

This is a law enforcement issue, not a military issue.

[–] PissingIntoTheWind@lemmy.world 3 points 10 hours ago

The streets of San Francisco are fine. There’s no need for any of this shit. If billionaires are scared. Maybe use their money to better the neighborhoods they are scared of.

[–] Psythik@lemmy.world 1 points 9 hours ago

No it's a public health issue.

[–] MapleEngineer@lemmy.world 31 points 20 hours ago (2 children)

The war on drugs has gone so well so far.

[–] altphoto@lemmy.today 5 points 16 hours ago (2 children)

Back in the nineties.... D.A.R.E. to keep kids off drugs! Scruff McCruff Chicago Illinois 60612?

[–] abaddon@lemmy.world 1 points 13 hours ago
  1. I'm sad that this jingle is still in my head but so many other things I have forgotten.
[–] MapleEngineer@lemmy.world 2 points 15 hours ago

My daughter always complained that no one had ever offered her free drugs to try to get her hooked. I spent a day walking around a farmers market with a pocket full of canamels handing them out to anyone who wanted them. On the way home I said, "Honey, I'm the guy they warned you about." She said, "Cannabis it's not addictive."

[–] ameancow@lemmy.world 1 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

I'm sure this time they'll win, they just have to crack down much harder, driving the value of drugs up even MORE, no way that will have consequences.

[–] MapleEngineer@lemmy.world 1 points 10 hours ago

The important thing is it's making the investors in police and military equipment and the people who run private professions wealthy and disproportionately harming minorities

[–] Buffalox@lemmy.world 61 points 23 hours ago (2 children)

Guy on drugs wants war on drugs.

[–] SkaveRat@discuss.tchncs.de 6 points 12 hours ago

Maybe he misunderstood the phrase. He wants a war while on drugs

[–] frog_meister 14 points 21 hours ago

It's always been this way.

The war on drugs never affected rich people or their children, only poor people who struggle to buy the drugs and find a private space to use them.

[–] Heikki2@lemmy.world 15 points 23 hours ago

I don't think anyone should listen to this Ketamine fueld cunt.

[–] TigerAce@lemmy.dbzer0.com 21 points 1 day ago

Bitch can end world hunger and US poverty over 3 times with his money but wants a military invasion and more federal funding for his own companies to get even richer.

Elon, you can go fuck yourself. It's the only way.

[–] graycube@lemmy.world 135 points 1 day ago (3 children)

Isn't he a big drug user? Does he really mean "war on poor people?"

[–] GraniteM@lemmy.world 11 points 23 hours ago

We knew we couldn’t make it illegal to be either against the war or black, but by getting the public to associate the hippies with marijuana and blacks with heroin, and then criminalizing both heavily, we could disrupt those communities. We could arrest their leaders, raid their homes, break up their meetings, and vilify them night after night on the evening news.

Did we know we were lying about the drugs? Of course we did.”

~ John Ehrlichman, Assistant to the President for Domestic Affairs under President Richard Nixon

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 80 points 1 day ago

That's pretty much what the "war on (some) drugs" always was. Well, that and anyone else they wanted to go after - gays, Blacks, liberals, etc...with things like the cocaine vs. crack treatment really highlighting the hypocrisy. Not to mention statements made by key people like Ehrlichman...

[–] FlexibleToast@lemmy.world 25 points 1 day ago (1 children)

"The war on X" has always meant "The war on the new not rich."

He wants all the ketamine for himself. DOGE will confiscate it all and then mysteriously disappear from a storage warehouse.

[–] krooklochurm@lemmy.ca 2 points 15 hours ago

He's more ketamine than man now.

[–] pineapplelover@lemmy.dbzer0.com 10 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

TIL we have to deploy troops and shoot drugs to end the "War on drugs"

Should we shoot up Big Opiod as well?

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 3 points 20 hours ago

E.g. send them to Stamford, Connecticut and go after Purdue Pharma?

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 57 points 1 day ago (1 children)

JFC, what an asshole. This is the guy that uses ketamine, shrooms, ecstasy and who knows what else?

I love how the rules don't apply to any of these assholes, but the full force of the law should come down like a ton of bricks of anyone that's not at least a centimillionaire...

[–] Tolookah@discuss.tchncs.de 8 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I think you mean hecto millionaire. (Centi sounds wrong to me for 100 million, more like centimeter)

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 2 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

They are synonyms. Centimillionaire and hectomillionaire mean the same thing.

[–] Tolookah@discuss.tchncs.de 1 points 13 hours ago

That might be, but my brain thought it was 10,000 dollars, or 0.01 million. I blame the language

[–] Almacca@aussie.zone 24 points 1 day ago (4 children)

Because DOGE was such a roaring success under his watch, I'm sure they're all still listening to him.
