Heading to bed but 3142 signups in 7 hours, LFG!

[-] Racle@sopuli.xyz 6 points 1 year ago

LFG!

I was wondering why you are "Looking For Group" ๐Ÿ˜„

Seems like that also goes for "Let's F****ng Go"

[-] fossilesque@mander.xyz 2 points 1 year ago

Brilliant, my friend. Thank you for your hard work.

I'm going to throw this link here for you to check out. It's a table comparing Mastodon apps which already has a big ecosystem on the Fediverse. Maybe you can find some inspiration. :)

I'm switching to Lemmy because Sync is making the switch

[-] kras@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Same. Getting that confirmation a little while made me decide to try lemmy out at all

[-] ancientalienbob@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Yeah I'm new here and all, but definitely curious to see what Sync does for it.

[-] folkrav@lemmy.world 8 points 1 year ago

I'll go wherever Sync goes. It was my favorite mobile client for any social app, regardless of the platform. Lemmy it is!

Anecdotally, I haven't logged in to Reddit in more than a month now. It's refreshing!

[-] naitro@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago

This. Sync was so nice to use that I find myself trying to use all the swipe actions sync had in all of the not so good lemmy apps currently available. None of them are as polished as sync was (and hopefully the lemmy version will be).

I genuinly think a good client can skyrocket the number of users. Even if users can just signup and browse all-active

[-] Risk@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

Try Liftoff until Sync is ready - it's much smoother than Jerboa.

Just be mindful of the default 'All' view is literally all of the lemmyverse - via that view you can't interact with instances that you aren't logged on in.

Instead change it to be 'All@lemmy.world' to use it as normal.

[-] seacocker@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Thunder is likely the closest to sync

[-] Xterrestrea1@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

This. In case anyone is wondering, here's the link as it's not on appstores yet: Thunder

Death to Reddit sync! All hail lemmy sync!

[-] PhiAU@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

Nice. Second (whatever we call subs/channels in lemmy) signed up for.

Going to go straight for max pro bleeding edge beta demo for life version, rather than wait as long as I did with Sync.

Looking forward to pop-out subscription nav, floating action buttons, and ultra compact style options, and whatever other QOL improvements you have planned @ljdawson@lemmy.world

[-] hogart@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

This is the way. The most used app on your phone is worth a dollarbuck or two.

[-] GullibleOyster@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

Absolutely buying the pro version the second it's available, Sync WAS reddit for me for the last 11 years.

[-] jonschwartz@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

Can't wait. I'm basically off reddit now cause your app doesn't work anymore. Happily will download when this comes out.

[-] rskn@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

I've paid for Sync (I forget how many) years ago and have loved it since. I'm so happy you all are switching over and building a app for Lemmy.

Thanks for all you do!

[-] hogart@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

When people see the apps being released for another platform. Ppl will use the platform because of the app.

[-] EtzBetz@feddit.de 3 points 1 year ago

Let's see where this goes. Most communities I switched over from Reddit to Lemmy are quite small at the moment, but with nice apps I imagine it will only grow.

[-] Booty@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

For those having issues getting the email form to:

    1. Show up at all
    1. Submit once/if it is showing up

Disable your ad and tracker blockers for syncapps.io.

iFor me, AdGuard was blocking the form from showing up at all. Then, in Firefox, dev tools showed that the tracker tool was stopping the form from submitting. Once I disabled both things for the site, I was (hopefully) able to get it submitted. I got the "Thanks for signing up" notification on the site, anyway. I'm not sure if I was supposed to receive a confirmation email, so I'm just hopeful it worked.

[-] thimantha@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Signed up for Lemmy just because you're developing an app for it u/ljdawson. Can't wait.

[-] Downcount@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

"Sync" was the first search term I used in the fediverse!

We all believe in you, u/ljdawson!

Boost4Lemmy already put a placeholder into Google Play store so people can get notified when a first build drops.

Doing the same with Sync4Lemmy would be a good idea...

[-] Kaseta@kbin.social 3 points 1 year ago

Somebody pls find spez's mail and use it to subscribe ๐Ÿคฃ

[-] chalupapocalypse@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

Please hurry, jeroba is weird and breaks a lot.

Thanks, love you

[-] sanguinepar@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

I'm using Connect, and it's really good. Not Sync good, but still.

[-] Deftdrummer@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Same, so seeing this announcement really wet my whistle. > Sync for Lemmy signup is now open

[-] Denzo@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

Test reply from Sync for Lemmy

[-] itsmikeyd@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

Test reply sent from Sync for Lemmy!

[-] impulse@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

My wallet is already waiting eagerly for a pro version.

In the meantime I can highly recommend Connect for Lemmy. Also a highly motivated dev with an awesome app.

It's really fun to try out all these different apps.

[-] Moohamin12@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Thank you for this.

I just installed Connect. Soooo much better than Jerboa and the mobile browser. Actually a much closer experience to Sync than I would have thought.

And I am already contributing so much more cause the experience is that much better. Hearty recommendation guys

Sync is really gonna be a game changer in interaction.

[-] ConditionOverload@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Connect is the best Lemmy app out right now. Great features, look, behavior, and the dev is very quick with responses and updates.

[-] Peregrinus@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

agreed, this is great. Updates keep flowing. A visual separator between posts in amoled mode would be nice but its excellent. Devs should start charging for these already. At least in the settings you can 'buymeacoffee' for connect.

[-] oaklandnative@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

I just switched from connect to Liftoff. I am liking Liftoff better. Looks nice and I like that comments collapse with one tap, and up/down vote arrows and the reply button are all shown in the comments as a default (rather than having to tap or swipe to see the arrows).

Liftoff also has better formatting options. Here are a few screenshots:

I was a paid user since the early days. I think Sync has been very generous with its pricing and extra features and would like to see it continue. Wish you the best of luck!

[-] Pitapita123@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago
[-] leodoc@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

A must have !

[-] TheManuz@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

I used Sync for Reddit all the time, happy to see you here.

I hope every third party Reddit developer follow your example.

[-] Quattrokongen@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Nothing happens when i press the 'Subscribe' button after writing in my e-mail address. Might be on my side the problem is. Have tried on 2 web browsers on my computer
