" That's why they call it the American Dream, because you have to be asleep to believe it."-George Carlin
We're in the final round of monopoly. The real question is who's going to flip the board in a rage?
What are we paying for the American Dream now?”
Everything.
And still doing better than most.
Hey, I have an idea: let's put Donald Trump in charge again for the next four years? /s Don't act like this is an unrelated issue. We reap what we sow (even those we don't understand it - it still happens regardless of awareness, or of consent).
Twenty-five years ago others would laugh and call us names for calling US citizens "wage slaves."
Who is laughing now? Only the wealthy.
God damn it sucks so hard to be right, and even harder to be right in the midst of a wave of stupidity that is ignoring you just trying to get people to pay attention before things got markedly worse.
It's like being a Cassandra (of the Greek myth) and knowing what is coming but being powerless to stop it.
It’s a good article that tracks the economic pinch points of the last couple decades. I wish it had a more satisfying end or call to action but realistically, what would that be. It’s hard to feel hopeful or like there’s positive change on its way or possible.
Sigh.
And this couple got it lucky. I'd dream to have it ad nice as them
