A couple of weeks ago there was a post on how to identify bands that are dodgy or straight up awful people. Here's a few links to help with that.

The Is it fash: the musical Facebook Group. Yeah, it's FB which isn't great but this is an active group of over 5k people, some of whom work with musicians and labels, who can provide accurate info. You need to request access.
Do You Hear The People Scream One Drive document. This is a list which is mostly up to date in a OneDrive Word doc of bands considered explicitly anti-fascist
Black Metal Bands And Their Politics | Bypass IP restriction. A list of rated Black Metal bands with the categories; Fascist, Sketchy, Not Very Sketchy, Not Sketchy, Leftist/Anti-fascist

Antifascist Black Metal YouTube Channel | On Piped | On Invidious. A channel that promotes and features explicitly anti-fascist, non problematic black metal (and other genres)

Even if that's the case, on the positive side their music doesn't really have any nazi or fascist themes in it. Do with that as you will.

That's true, part of why it caught me off guard even though the website said it's like "common knowledge" lol. Situations like this call for trusty old qbittorrent!

Any resources for Death/MeloDeath/metal that isn’t black metal?

Not as far as I know. I think it's mainly (sadly) Black Metal that attracts the real nasties. I'm sure there's the odd non-black metal band thats pretty awful but I don't think there's an organised collation of it. Your best bet is the 'Is It Fash' FB group where you can search the group and also ask the members.
