A couple of months ago I purchased a couch and a couple of weeks ago I purchased some covers. Anyone knows what is this bug?

Thanks for all the replies!

I just cleaned the room in depth, specially the couch, and washed the covers. I only saw that one, I suspect it came with the covers.

Check your books and papers. That's where you really need them to stay away.

I thought it was normal to see silverfish every once in a while - but that if you see a lot of them it could be a problem.

It's pretty normal to see them in a bathroom or kitchen, as they like damp areas; I have no clue about finding them in couches, tho.

At my last property, silverfish ended up being an indicator of wall studs rotting away.

Excess condensation was dripping off the pipes due to poor insulation & high humidity, exasperated by an addition/extension done by the previous owners which had removed the only nearby exterior ventilation.

In your case, hopefully these silverfish just originated from the factory, or maybe they're there due to dandruff or something. Neutralize them and carry on as normal, if you see more then i would suggest inspecting for damp or calling a professional to look in the walls, taking things from there as you deem best.

100% a Silverfish OP. That's not good news.

Yeah, they'll destroy any books, some clothes, and lots of other shit.

If a bug doesn't eat other bugs, it'll fuck something up

Aren’t they in practically every moving box, or in other words everywhere? At least in cities that is..

Silverfish are harmless. And no issue if there is just a few of them.

Silverfish are harmless

They are attracted to glue, book bindings, paper, sugar and textiles. Silverfish can destroy silks, cotton and other fabrics and may feast upon leather in the event of a famine. Silverfish inhabit dark, damp areas such as closets, attics and basements and will feed upon paper and linen stores in these locations

Do you keep your sofa in a dark damp location? If not then your safe.
