Refreshing the main F-Droid repository shows it as new. Can't find it on the website yet. Nice for Proton users to have it on F-Droid.

How about Proton Drive, Proton Calendar and Proton Contacts.

Edit: Oh and Proton Mail

The IzzyOnDroid repo for FDroid has Proton Mail. Plus contacts are accessible in the Mail app. But 100% agree with calendar and drive!

I get Proton Mail via Obtainium directly from GitHub. They recently also added Proton Drive but they didn't add a release so it doesn't work there.

Proton Calendar can be downloaded directly from their site, for whatever reason

How do you get updates in that case?

[–] miss_brainfarts@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

You don't. Have to check yourself, at least I didn't see another way

That's not very secure nor ideal. So if they would add releases to their Git repository, someone could use obtanium, like they already do with Proton Mail.

Yeah, I absolutely do not understand why they do it, makes no sense

Since F-droid lacks official Proton apps, I ended up using F-droid to install Obtainium app, which allows installing apps from Proton apk or official Proton Github and keeping it up-to-date from same source. I have used these links in Obtainium:

https://proton.me/download/DriveAndroid/ProtonDrive-Android.apk

https://github.com/ProtonMail/android-mail

https://github.com/ProtonVPN/android-app

Not found Pass, so I have Pass from a F-droid directly.

Is there any difference from the one in g play?

[–] lemmyreader@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 year ago

Feature wise not I guess.

Is there any reason to switch from Bitwarden now? I heard Proton Pass was pretty bare bones at launch, but how has it come on in the past year? I currently use the rest of Proton's suite but not Proton Pass as Bitwarden was better when Proton Pass originally launched.

With Bitwarden you can self host your server.
