Where do you live lol?
@David_Eight@lemmy.world @Everythingispenguins@lemmy.world
One down. The Rocket is alive with a new battery, and after the keys took a ride on the rear wiper of my wife's car without somehow falling off.
Now for the Riva, which should be simpler, and which I might need a welder for the headstock.
What are you trying to get going?
@Everythingispenguins@lemmy.world I have a 2007 Rocket 3 and a Riva 125 scooter. They both run, I'm just too lazy to pull them out of the garage and do the actual work of putting a jumpstarter to them and air in the tires.
It could be ~~worse~~ better. I have to tender, fuel stabilize, tires, chain, etc., etc., this bunch every season:
I've since reduced that pile from 9 to 7. This is the life we chose!
@dual_sport_dork@lemmy.world I got the Rocket going, needed a new battery ... again ... because I neglected the battery I bought last year ... again.
Get a desulfator. They're cheap now online; you don't even have to build your own anymore. I've successfully rescued several knackered batteries with mine. I'll warn you it does take several days of doing its thing to restore the cranking amps on a battery but if it's dead just due to neglect and sitting there discharged it usually works.
