[-] umbrella@lemmy.ml 10 points 6 months ago

so its like on its late 50s?

[-] Bishma@discuss.tchncs.de 38 points 6 months ago

Neither is falling when connected to the generator. That's nature's cruel joke; the cat-bread dynamo is limitless energy but it can never be harnessed.

[-] ChairmanMeow@programming.dev 9 points 6 months ago

It could perhaps turns a fan due to the air current it generates by spinning?

[-] TaviRider@reddthat.com 28 points 6 months ago

There’s a fatal flaw in the premise. It is impossible to fasten something to a cat.

[-] Leate_Wonceslace@lemmy.dbzer0.com 8 points 6 months ago

Even if it were, attaching it to the generator prevents the cat-bread from falling, thus canceling the motion.

[-] KISSmyOSFeddit@lemmy.world 27 points 6 months ago

nope. The cat would land on its feet, then instantly roll around to spread the butter on your carpet.

[-] cmgvd3lw@discuss.tchncs.de 2 points 6 months ago

In that case you can use it as a spreader. Great success

I'm concerned about how the generator is connected to that poor cat

[-] GregorTacTac@lemm.ee 4 points 6 months ago

My first thought as well. No straps, just straight into the cat's arse.

[-] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 11 points 6 months ago

Where are you attaching that shaft?! Poor cat!

[-] therealjcdenton@lemmy.zip 5 points 6 months ago

Problem engineers?

[-] andrewth09@lemmy.world 5 points 6 months ago

Who else thought that was an Arduino?

[-] CoolMatt@lemmy.ca 4 points 6 months ago* (last edited 6 months ago)

Except that's the engine part of the generator, which is the part that spins the alternator, which is the part that generates electricity.

So you're just attaching a make spinny part to another make spinny part, which cancel each other out so the cat just remains stationary as long as the engine runs, creating zero electricity.

Cat-bread would keep rotating ~~and never falls~~ as it falls to the ground

The Omelas generator

This brings up some interesting moral questions
