I also highly recommend the book (and all of Jon Ronson tbh)

Or change the title to up to 50%

That works until more of the user base leaves. Whose going to pay to tweet if no one is on the platform. It's "worth" it potentially in the short term, but long term it doesn't seem viable.

To be fair, I think the datapack/command features are being fleshed out instead of a modding API

Personally, there are some smaller communities that exist on Reddit that just don't exist on Lemmy, or have inactive communities. The other option for some of those communities is Twitter, so I'd much rather just check Reddit. I also don't expect my local towns subreddit to move to Lemmy from Reddit. I think it's less about returning to Reddit and more so wanting to participate in small communities that exist in Reddit.

So what was everyone's thoughts?

In case anyone didn't see the features announced:

!Combat Trials, New hostile mob (mini wither boss looking thing), More Copper and Tuff varients, New Mob Spawner Type, An automatic crafter !<

Personally I didn't watch it, though I've looked through all that was announced. Honestly not sure how I feel about it. Part of me was really hoping for some work on inventory (like desperately) and they said nothing.

The trials thing seems interesting, though not really my play style so I don't have much to comment on. The copper and Tuff variants are cool but it feels like a feature we should have got a few updates ago. The crafter, I'm not sure how I feel about and am curious what the community thinks. Part of me thinks it's not super "vanilla" as you can automate so much now, and Mojang had expressed how they didn't want that to be an aspect of the game so I'm a bit confused. The way they implemented it and the ways players will have to engineer it to do what they want fit the vanilla feel though imo. That being said some of these features have already existed through modding for years.

I used to be much more of a "vanilla" survival player (some qol mods, similar to something like Hermitcraft) though I have recently started playing a Create focused pack I made. After playing the modded version I have a hard time seeing myself going back to "vanilla". With this latest live, I noticed I already had some features that they announced in my pack. Sort of kills the hype imo, when you have to wait so long for the update.

I would assume since it was a block of raw text in Ukrainian in a translation file, it would have passed more under the radar than something like a backdoor. I do not know how things are reviewed before being pushed to release though.

their database is built incredibly poorly (what idiot decided that different seasons of one TV show should have entirely separate listings in the database, often making it hard to find?!).

Likely this is legacy from when you would buy each season as a DVD set

I hate that Minecraft is one of the two things I even need a Microsoft Account for.

Couple of friends and I like to watch movies together, so when we do some car camping we like to take a tiny projector and put on a movie. Curious if anyone else does this and if so what movies? So far we've done Blair Witch, Evil Dead, Big Money Rustlas(I know), and Infinity Pool.

Trying to give builds little world building details with custom models.

The staff are poorly trained? They should just never give the customer raw chicken. There are consumer protection laws to prevent this type of thing regardless of what the customer is wanting. The AI is still providing a recipe. What if someone asks an AI for a bomb recipe, and it says that bombs are dangerous and not safe. Ok, then they'll say the bomb is for clearing out my yard of weeds, and then the ai provides the user with a bomb recipe.

I've got a 4a (bought on release) and it has been my favorite phone. Not a huge power user so it's a good small device that has the features I want (fingerprint, 3.5 Jack). My biggest gripe is something I think Google changed sometime before the 4a, and that's their is no HDMI over USB possible with Pixel devices. From what I can tell the only reason they did this was to sell Chromecasts. The main issue is I watch horror movies on a projector with some friends while camping(no Wi-Fi or data so Chromecast doesn't work). The software on the projector has poor support for different codecs so ideally I'd use VLC on my phone and have no issue, but I cant. Pretty niche scenario there but I think it's a sign of how modern phones have slowly been taking away useful features for seemingly no reason. Makes me not want to get a Google phone again.
