I honestly love the solitude that harsh winters bring. And all the heavy clothing I get to wear, the much longer nights, going through my stockpile of canned and preserved goods. There have been winters where I was snowed in for weeks, and they were glorious

It's true, the brain and body need extra care to prevent depression during winter, but I'm much more depressed during the long, blistering hot summer months

Facebook is damn near a necessity in the area I live because no one wants to host their own websites. I've still not given in to making an account, but I'm starting to feel the struggle of not being able to contact small businesses.

So, I can imagine some of those users are multiples of the same person if they also have an account for their business

Glyphosate too. Increasingly linked to Parkinsons, cancer, and endocrine disorders among other things.

I don't know if my brain is addled by the sheer amount of mudslinging he does, but I can't think of another politician that has publicly had issues with more than one or two people.

Obama, Hillary Clinton, Biden, various governors, AOC, Pelosi, various mayors. I actually can't even list all of the people Trump has had to "rescue America" from.

Well, his Wikipedia article is horrifying

He asserts that casual sex attracts subterranean spirits that make an impression on the inside of women's vaginas and offers exercises to "clean out" said vaginas; he writes that children get cancer because they want it;

I hope her first husband kept their daughters away from him

This is why I set the bottle in the bathroom sink after having this thought. Its hard to ignore something so out of place and in the way

When I was transitioning out of therapy, I used a peer support as a stepping stone to forging my own support network. The person who was assigned to me is studying to be a psychologist. He was well aware of my ADHD.

One day I was talking about how exhausting it can be to find a New Thing that becomes my existence until I squeeze out the dopamine I can get from it. This man goes "Wow, you really have an addictive personality."

If current psychology students aren't being taught how ADHD impacts the way people interact with the world, and they instead dismiss it as a personality trait with negative connotations, I don't have much hope that people will stop discriminating either.

The worst part is, it's widely known that the population he and I inhabit often develop addictions through self-medication or self-soothing. There's so much more to addiction than what many people assume it is

This account is new, but lemm.ee was my home instance for two years. The Admin, sunaurus, was great, and I am impressed that he made it as long as he did before asking for help. You say it was stressful modding this community, so I'm sure you understandand how stressful it was for him to be the admin of such a popular and busy instance.

It really concerns me that you're glossing over the fact that the Nazi glorification reports were all quickly dismissed by whichever mod(s). You're trying to rewrite history, and again, it's a funny thing to do with this instance going offline soon.

As the saying goes: if a Nazi sits at a bar and no one kicks him out, it's a Nazi bar. How can you expect anyone to take conservatism seriously if you aren't keeping the worst of humanity from being associated with it?

Take a breath. Let go of this. If Lemmy is "trash" for you, maybe this isn't a good fit. That happens in life, and I get that you feel it's unfair. But, it was pointed out in your other thread that the fediverse works in a way that you can be your own admin of a conservative instance, and you had at least one invite to one that is already up and running
