Trying to gain any kind of understanding of data based on the outputs of an LLM is like asking a toddler to read shakespeare and analysing what they say afterwards as if it were the bard.
I feel like the kind of "freedom" players want from an RPG is somewhat inconsistent with playing as a specific character, i.e. Geralt. For me, I want to be my own character and decide who they are and what they do. I never really got on with Geralt because I don't want to be a moody medieval jedi, I'd much rather be a whimsical wizard or something.
Here's a fun fact I just learned!
It's fairly well known nowadays that lemmings do not, in fact, follow one another off cliffs to their deaths. The myth has been persistent for many years, and was notably perpetuated by Disney in their documentary White Wilderness, which showed lemmings apparently diving from a cliff to their deaths. Truly though, these lemmings had been flown half way across the world and were thrown from the cliffs by the documentary's producers.
Cultural appropriation is such a strange issue. It's obvious to me that wearing someone's culture as a costume is fucked up... And it's pretty obvious too I think that opening a restaurant selling food from overseas is almost always cultural exchange... I don't really think you can open a restaurant without a solid understanding of the food you're making (quite unlike putting on a headdress and getting hammered on Halloween)... Somewhere in between there's a line, perhaps, but I have absolutely no idea where it is. White people with dreads is in there somewhere, no one seems to agree on it, personally I think it's pretty far removed from its origins and is basically a white hippy thing in it's own right, regardless of how it began, but I know a lot of people disagree.
"Would you like a cup of tea before you go?" - I would like you to leave now.
"Right, kettle's on" - thank god I am now finally able to sit down and relax
Really does not look like it's going to clear that gap lol
Unwise. Evil cat? Things get knocked from tables. Evil dog? Face gets eaten from head.
Hmmm ... well, if I was going to hire, say, a chemist to work in a research lab, I need some way to identify if my candidates have the required skills/knowledge/etc. Now one way to quickly ascertain that is to see if they have a chemistry degree (or master's, PhD, whatever is necessary for the particular role). Possibly practical experience could be enough, also - I know people who have worked up through corporate labs without degrees.
However if someone comes and says "trust me, I've read a lot of papers and watched YouTube videos"... sure, they might know what they need, but how am I going to check? The point of a degree isn't necessarily just to legitimise that knowledge, it's also a stamp that says a trusted entity has confirmed you have those skills and knowledge. I'm not saying it's perfect, but there is a purpose to the whole institution.
The C suite's purpose is to generate value for the shareholders. Unless AI-C delivers that value the old guard will be back in no time.
Altruism is not without reward, even if it seems like it is. No one acts selflessly for no reason, they do so because they are rewarded by their body with dopamine and other "reward" hormones - i.e. because it feels good to do so.
Chat GPT repeats itself over and over, wouldn't surprise me if these articles were written by AI
Magic medicine means magic ailments. Just like the introduction of antibiotics produced bacteria like MRSA, the use of magic to cure wounds could produce MRSA. That is, magic resistant staphylococcus aureus, as opposed to methicillin.
Curses and other such primarily magical ailments could also be much more difficult to deal with than simple infections/wounds.
