Your link doesn't go anywhere for me. Is it on my end or is the link bad?

I like how the game caters to all play styles. Like I've always been drawn to the thief/rogue play style as my main. So in the group setting I've had a blast using her as a scout role too. See where enemies are, find the perfect ambush spot, then send my tank in to either trigger shit and surprise everyone or lure them into my ambush. As I play I feel like that's what the game was designed for.

But then you see all these other players and play styles and realize they catered to everything. They designed encounters to make tons of playstyles viable. That's just outstanding world design.

That's fair. Probably not helpful at the moment but i got a sit or stand desk awhile back and it's terrific. Sometimes I don't use it enough but recently I saw a video that anything you enjoy sitting you can usually enjoy standing. Like my controller is wireless I can stand instead of sit ony couch. I can eat dinner aty kitchen counter instead of sitting every night. I can have a drink with friends while standing, etc. Even without a standing desk that's probably true for you as well. If you put on movie or a game stand to watch some of it. It feels weird at first but I stand probably 2/3 of my day now. Try it out!

It may actually be better to set your AC to a highish temp like 81-82 so that it keeps it at that level without running non stop. If the house is 89-90 it takes a very long time and uses a great deal of energy to cool the air down. Maintaining a tolerable temperature can actually help conserve energy in many cases. Obviously you do you and all systems are different but could be worth trying!

AdGuard was my ad blocker of choice on Android for years, but man did they fall off a cliff recently. I used them when you could purchase a forever license (which I don't even think is an option anymore?), and it was great. All ads would be blocked basically everywhere, whenever they'd sneak through it just meant there was a filter that was out of date and needed to be updated.

Then about a year ago, the shenanigans started. Non-stop emails like OP is complaining about but also - their service BROKE whenever my phone would switch from data to wifi or vice versa. Like, any time it switched network types, just no internet would work at all. I'd have to force quit AdGuard and suddenly everything was fine. The timing happened when android updated from 12 to 13, so I figured it was something to do with that and emailed customer service. I got a notice that said something like "due to high ticket volume, it may be SEVERAL WEEKS before we get to your ticket or acknowledge it is being worked on, thank you for your patience." So they're spamming your inbox non-stop trying to click farm, but they have nobody actually working on the product. I never heard anything ever again (still haven't...account is still active, email is still the same). I tried reaching out 3 or 4 more times but I've never received a response.

So...yeah fuck em I guess.

No clue. So far Ive had the best luck by just searching the question I'm looking to have answered, and I quciksave a lot. Try that instead of the normal wiki dive you'd do with something like dark souls or witcher. If it's quest or character related, neoseeker usually has really good, zero fluff, walk throughs.

Oh thanks for the tip! I didn't even realize there was a codeberg link in the post.

Actually most are doing fine/not seeing a huge influx anymore. Beehaw is even downsizing. The rexxit bump is largely past and the usage is finding it's new level. That plus version improvements is reducing load.

That said, nothing wrong with donating to an instance you like! I donate to the ones that disclose their financials. I like the transparency and helps me assess if my donation is fair/equitable.

I don't think it's that connection causing problems, mainly because my app works fine (mostly) and I don't have a connection to any meta services. There are none on my phone, and I do not have a Facebook login at all. I will say that of all the apps I use, Ally is the most finicky. It seems to crash itself every 2-3 uses for no apparent reason at all.

That said, it seems unlikely that the app would fail for you in this case just because you blocked access to a service that I know it does not actually require to operate (because it has to be operating without it on my phone), and another poster tested and could not recreate. Not sure if that helps, but may point you towards diagnosing what is really causing the issue!

Your concerns are valid, you absolutely will see your family less. If you're not okay with that, that's okay! Also keep in mind that the world is not on a night shift. It's significantly harder to sleep normal hours when everything is going on the regular day schedule. That might not matter where you are but where I live that means more noise, more sirens, more people coming and going and keeping me awake. I'm a naturally light sleeper so when I had to work nights I had to go an extra mile or two. Blackout curtains are essential, and you may want to shove a towel under the door if the sun angle is unfavorable and shines it there. I also needed a facemask and ear plugs until I discovered I preferred a nice white noise maker. I still sleep with a white noise machine to this day, love it.

There are good things to night shift too. Less bullshit all around generally. Depending on what you're doing that can be good or bad. It can be mind numbingly boring if you don't have a set amount of work to do.
