The transition from the "don’t believe everything you see on the internet“ mindset to the "if it’s on the internet it must be right" mindset was swift and frictionless. But I think it was somewhere between 2019 and 2022

In Austria, where I’m from, sex ed in school gets a brief introduction at age 10 when learning about the human anatomy, gradually learning more in biology class. Before ending middle school, there’s a mandatory intensive sex ed course, at least that was the thing 17 years ago.

Condoms were primarily advertised as medical products for preventing from sexual diseases, and only secondly as pregnancy preventions.

1 in 10 has had sex with 14 years old in my country, keep it safe, better at home with condoms than in the woods without. If they want to, they’ll find a way.

I am changing the way I use my phone. Today I sat in front of the computer and wanted to do something cool on the internet, like in the time before insta/fb/reddit/lemmy doomscrolling. I couldn’t think of any website and took a bath instead, thinking of all the older websites where you had a chatwindow, forums and such.

They’re all gone by now, aren’t they?

To add to that, most of the games are free but the creator asks for a dollar or two before you download, which is not required to play the game.

Remember when they said "we’re unable to make a game like BG3 consistently" and then 2 years later ClairObscure Expedition 33 releases, made by even less people than BG3.

Those games aren’t AAA, they’re S+ games.

It’s driving me crazy. Partner on phone, playing videos and games while the TV is running some YouTube reaction stuff.

I wear noise cancelling headphones all day at home because it’s just too much. The volume is so high I can hear it through a closed door. My PC is in the same room as the TV and I can’t even concentrate on a tutorial on how to do some editing stuff.

Partner is also suffering from depression so every freaking time I begged to please turn the tv off, it’s just ended in a 30 minute therapy session at home on how I can improve myself.

Anyone in a similar situation?

You highlight something in Edge and release your finger from the button? New menu. Now you can copy it directly! Great! No need for right clicking every time, right? No! It only works in Edge! You want to copy from Outlook? Nothing! You highlight in Word or Excel? You can change the font of the selected text! No copy option!

You expect it to work a certain way and then it just doesn’t. Don’t get me wrong, I love right clicking, but expecting not having to and then still needing to click it is just… inconsistently inconvenient

So, I have about $1.000 in Bitcoin that used to be $300 (I’ve put in about $1.500 in various shitcoins before getting those BTC)

I fly drones as a hobby and I was thinking of getting a new system for that amount of money.
