I have an older stereo system which I use mostly for listening to vinyl and CDs. I also have a cassette player which I rarely use.

Currently I have my turntable routed to my EQ which then has an out to the 'phono' input on my receiver.

Unfortunately with this setup I can't use the EQ with CDs as my CD player has an 'out' that goes directly to the 'CD' input.

I feel like I had this set up so that I could EQ any input but don't remember how I got this to work. I've googled and haven't found anything that explains this clearly, like I'm 5.

I feel like I had to loop things through my cassette deck or something.

Here are the connections on the back of my Receiver.

Here is my EQ

Here is my Cassette deck.

Any assistance appreciated.

I have an aluminum kettle I used for a home-built electric brewing system. The water heater element I used required a 1.25" hole.

Fast forward a few years and I bought an Anvil Foundry and want to convert my old kettle back to one I can use for occasional propane BIAB batches.

I've searched online and don't see any off-the-shelf options for Bulkhead hole plugs for a 1.25" diameter holes.

Anyone know of a place that sells these or how I can build something myself using items from the hardware stores?

Thanks.

Frankly I'm not sure NATO can rely on Turkey.

So our choice is between run-of-the-mill president or a guy who says he wants to a dictator, violently tried to overturn the last election, had fake electors etc. etc.

I'm not excited about Biden but the choice seems to be pretty straightforward and I'll be SURE to get to the polls.

Henry Ford designed the Model T to be a bare-bones vehicle affordable for the everyday person. Volkswagon designed the Beetle to be a bare-bones vehicle affordable for the everyday person.

The first car company to design an EV that's a bare-bones vehicle affordable for the everyday person will sell lots of them. Profit per car may be lower but perhaps we need to set the need for maximum profits aside on this particular issue?

My raises aren't even CLOSE to keeping up with inflation. Rather hard to splurge on a fancy EV with tons of high-tech nice-to-have features that are just going to break anyway. All I need to do is to get from point A to point B and have AC, heat and a half-decent stereo system.

I've never understood why people go and shoot up schools when there's likely a conference for designers of major appliances just ASKING for it. /s

You might be able to find a gym that stays open late.

Wanted to like it more than I did. Just didn't think it was all that funny.

Now I thought Avenue 5 (HBO) was absolutely hilarious. It's the funny I expected from Orville. Too bad it ended after 2 seasons.

I thought it might be something like that. I may uninstall it anyway as it's not particularly attractive.

We bought a new house but haven't moved in yet. The previous owners moved out months ago. What is this thing in the corner of the living room? They may have had a security system by ADT in the past. They have a Ring doorbell. I don't plan to sign a contract with ADT. Any ideas? Should I try to uninstall it or cover it in the meantime?

My wife got 50% off Lasik surgery in the early days of Groupon when they offered crazy deals. I thought it was really unwise to get eye surgery half-off. I'm usually a "you get what you pay for" kind of guy.

Turned out pretty well for her though.

I'm pretty much brand new to lemmy but the thought of having to switch instances to see cooking conversations after conversing about Raspberry Pi projects in a different instance just seems unwieldy. But I guess as long as my instances are all federating with each other I don't need to switch instances. I'm a technical guy but this needs to be easier for joe sixpack or it's not going to catch on. And if it doesn't catch on there's going to be less interesting content...
