I voted for "not Trump" in 2020 but unless something new comes to light, I'm voting for Biden, not just against Trump. Do I objectively like him? No, not really, but he's done the best work of any president to hold office during my lifetime.

This doesn't surprise me at all. I'm an aerospace engineer and I know MAGA aerospace engineers and if Trump were to say something along the lines of "we're gonna cut the cost of designing an aircraft by loosening the safety requirements", they would be able to articulate exactly why we shouldn't do that. Their inability to translate that into things like deadly virus precautions is another matter but when they know he's wrong, they know.

If you're gonna use both for now, I would recommend downloading an ad blocker. AdGuard and ublock origin (the word origin is important, there is a knockoff called ublock) are both good. It was greed that motivated Reddit to pull this shit, might as well deny them ad revenue.

I would say it's more like when a bunch of friends collectively break up with toxic partners and have a big meeting to talk about it. It'll die down after a while. People on Reddit don't really talk about Digg anymore.

You joke, but Reddit did something to piss me off a few months before the current fuckery, and I decided to find an alt and there weren't really any, like I found Mastodon but that's more of a Twitter replacement, never encountered this site while searching. What I ended up doing was downloading a bunch of books and putting them on my phone, then putting the books app where my Apollo app used to be on my homescreen. Now, more often than not, when I go to scroll, I end up just opening a book. I've got a little over 40 on there, they keep my progress, even across devices, and they work when there's no signal so I no longer have to fear public toilets with shitty cell signal lol.
