So this is where we are now? All men wanted this? All men voted for this?

It's not about punishment. It's about practicality given the circumstances.

I did not vote for this either, but it would be foolish to not acknowledge that sex will become far riskier for women if they do not have access to abortion and contraceptives.

The preceding commenter's response wasn't vile or hateful. It was a very matter-of-fact presentation of the situation that we (as a society) are facing.

Of course AI is being used by the bad guys.

Been using Firefox for as long as I can remember now. Never had a reason to switch away, and I'm feeling rather vindicated.

As an American (who voted for Harris), I'm so sorry. I'm absolutely horrified at the outcome of this, and what is happening to Ukraine and Palestine. And what will happen to others even in my own community.

I'm a straight, white, hetero male and will in theory be OK with a Trump presidency. But I take the lessons of history very seriously and voted to help others. I'm deeply ashamed that so many other Americans did not feel the same.

If western govs refuse to impose real legal sanctions that actually have some teeth, then our only resort is for the general public (including organized non-gov groups) to impose social sanctions.

They need to stop trying to shoehorn AI into anything and everything.

This is quite dystopian. Actually showing up it people's homes, yikes.

This seems like it should be more of a "write-up" type of offense, rather than skipping straight to terminating employment. This is a vigil, not a protest. Microsoft: "how dare you mourn those killed by a genocidal regime."

BTW - what is everyone's favorite non-MS suite of office programs? I've been using Only Office, but curious what others think.

and America funding it.

And absolutely gaslighting anyone who calls anyone out for it.

I'm really sick of the whole "criticism of Israel is antisemitism" rhetoric. NO IT ISN'T. And pushing this rhetoric harder isn't going to make me support them either. If anything, I'm going to see it as an increasing threat to my First Amendment right to free speech.

My criticism of the Chinese government is not hateful towards the Chinese Americans in my community. It's also not hateful towards the Chinese people living in China or anywhere else in the world. It's a criticism of the leadership, which is fair game. Ditto for criticism of Iran, Russia, or any other nation I can think of.

But criticize the Israeli government and suddenly it's a problem. There's less pushback for criticizing the U.S. government!

The resistance to allowing WFH really shows how bullshit the push for EVs "to help the environment" is.

I'm not anti-EV and do believe they are better than ICE. But even better than an EV-driven mile is a mile that isn't driven at all.

Indeed, you've spelled it out plainly: there is no vote option to end the U.S. funding of Israel's genocide in Gaza.

I can either make a vote that won't end it, or I can make a vote that won't end it (and may actually make it worse, as you alluded) and will also lead to significant negative consequences for many groups of people here.

If there’s a single bone in your body that cares about the lives of your trans friends you will too.

Not just trans, but homosexual, non-white, non-religious, women.
