Should I lower swap? How do I change the swappiness?

I assume I should get rid of most of the swap. I also read somewhere to increase... swappiness of zram?

Thank you! I think I'll end up restarting sometime in the future, but for now this is amazing!

I use cinnamon, but this setting is on

I'm in cinnamon, and this happens in awesomewm as well

Hi, I use linux mint and recently installed a bunch of desktop environments, and I think that it might have caused this issue. How do I fix this? I want to avoid resetting, but if there isn't a solution, I can. This does not occur in another distro, or another kernel, but occurs in other desktop environments. Solution:

Cool!

You could try running syndaemon manually in your session, if that works you may need to reconfigure syndaemon somehow.

I'll certainly try fluxbox. What is i3 and fluxbox configured in?

My problem with qtile is it seems... just bad... The install instruction doesn't work, and it was just a pain to install

Uh What's the difference?

If stacking is floating, I think I'd rather have that

I want the easiest to configure/theme wm and one that comes with sane defaults. Also I currently use cinnamon, and I'm not sure how to escape from that(everything in it is just so nice) but I want the speed of a wm

It's really annoying, and I would be fine with constantly killing it, but stopping it from spawning would be best. The process is named cinnamon-close-dialogue

What's the wm?

[-] ExplodeyWolf@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

Wow, amazing, thanks for the explanation!

[-] ExplodeyWolf@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

I am using xorg

So... what's a compositor?
