Installing applications can be done in a few ways, typically you'll just download from your OS's software store. Ubuntu does sometimes require that you add new repositories, but to avoid that you can always give something like flatpak or appimage versions of the software you want a try. Appimages are similar to .exe files, you can just download them from the software's website - and you can get flatpak applications from flathub.org. The main downside with these is they come with all the stuff they depend on, so they tend to be a bigger file size, they can be a little slower but honestly it's barely noticable. I rarely use appimages because they won't show up in your desktop environment's application list by default and it can be a pain to set them up to show. A good default way to go is Software store -> Flatpak -> Appimage -> then finally if none of that works you could do it manually, but I don't recommend that. Ubuntu's software store tends to be behind on updates because as a distribution it's focused on stability. Once you're used to it, there's a lot of advantages to using a centralized software store instead of downloading .exe files off websites. Either way, don't let some growing pains totally discourage you! Not every distribution provides the same experience, and there's a lot of options out there!

You should look into the history of WHY Hamas formed in the first place. Palestinians have been forcibly relocated and had their land taken since the 40's. I will say, is there any justification for the destruction and genocide Israel is committing? They've destroyed practically ALL infrastructure in Gaza including hospitals, they've got snipers shooting kids, targeting UN aid workers. Hamas and hostages are convenient excuses for them to keep doing what they started in the 40's - killing an entire native population and taking their land.

Because our government's support of Israel furthers US financial interests in the Middle East.

I drive an EV for work, any my biggest gripe is the touchscreen. What is wrong with buttons. Why must everything be hidden behind a menu I have to navigate on a touchscreen. It feels less safe, frankly. In my own car I have muscle memory for each button and can do things like skip songs or adjust the AC without looking away from the road... But in the EV I can't.

What's happening in Gaza is being directly funded by all of our taxes, there's not a particular location that the protesting needs to be done, it just needs to be done.

I think it's important to question the idea that the US has "always rejected fanaticism". Sure, our state doesn't want to be viewed that way. I just think that looking at our history shows a lot of fanatic shit, from the way settlers treated the native population, to all of our conflicts in the 1900's to now.

I feel like all that will happen is players will continue to move to non-AAA alternatives, or wait longer periods for discounts, or maybe platforms like game pass where they can just play a lot of the new games right away just by having the sub. $70 alone is already very expensive.

I prefer the headphone jack is on the bottom, next to the charging port. That way, I can put the ports down while my phone is in my pocket if i'm working, so nothing gets into the ports. Then, if I'm just keeping my phone in my pocket normally, with the ports up, my headphones can plug in without problems.

Any UBI system worth it's salt wouldn't be providing a flat amount, it should be based on regional cost of living. So if prices all went up, UBI would have to go up as well.
