Gonna have to go earlier than that; or at least very early gen-Xers. Wife and I (born 80 and 77, respectively) were paycheck to paycheck until we were in our late 30s. Consider until like '98 or 2000, I was making 4.35 an hour (in San Diego, no less) . We are good now, but only because I am in the tech field and we live in a sorta low cost-of-life area. But even now, saving for retirement and my kids college funds doesn't leave a whole hell of a lot sitting around. Mind that we budget like mad. Know what every bill will be a year out and have buckets for those.

Point of that cool story is that there have been many generations of people living check-to-check. Boomers are probably the closest thing to maybe working a service job, but still having enough to pay mortgage on a little ranch-style house or at least covering rent and other bills.

The fire got out of control after he threw a spray can into the blaze. ... This guy is clearly meant for bigger things.

"He/she just tells it like it is" No, they are just saying things that resonate with you, but have no actual alignment with data, facts or morality. Simply saying things with no filter doesn't equal "like it is". I find it is usually attributed to, at best, oversimplified or completely ignorant statements, at worst, misleading and/or hateful statements.

One of the only brands I would ever promote, Darn Tough socks.

Wear em out, ship them back, order a free pair. It's that easy and they are the most comfortable, durable socks I have ever worn. Won't ever buy another brand.

I have a feeling they aired that to startle the base into ignoring all of the fuckery surrounding trump and voting for him out of fear. I somehow doubt the numbers are accurate or even from a conducted poll. I may be wrong but I figure if it's on Fox, and it's political, it's probably intentional bullshit.

SOP (like 99% sure). Many airports have parallel runways with more than enough clearance for two simultaneous landings. I have been a passenger in this scenario at least four times that I can think of, and I don't fly that much. I think those were in Denver, SFO and LAX. I don't recall there being any situation that would be considered an emergency on any of those.
