I recently set up the whole stack (Postfix, Dovecot, OpenDKIM) on a VPS. I wanted to do it from home, but my ISP won't provide a static IP or open ports 25/465/587 for consumer customers, no exceptions.

It took me about two days to get everything working, but most of that was because I went in with very little knowledge of how email even actually works. If you're looking for a learning experience, I'd say go for it. If you just want a working email setup quickly, I wouldn't recommend it.

I haven't noticed any deliverability issues so far. Just make sure you have SPF, DKIM, DMARC, and PTR records all set correctly from the start.

I love his cute expression. He likely thinks he will be unlocked if he acts like a good boy. Bad news, not gonna happen anytime soon~

I have Mint on my laptop, manage Ubuntu Servers at work, run Debian on my home servers, have a working LFS build on my old pc, but use Windows on my main desktop. Where am I on the chart?

I wouldn't fly on OwO Airlines. Passenger comfort and safety doesn't seem to be high on their list given all the blatant safety violations AND the fact that there's no passenger windows at all.

Obviously what he did was wrong but I can't help but feel a bit sorry for him. I'm glad he seems to have mostly gotten his life back together.

You can absolutely do that, but I would highly recommend setting up the laptop for SSH access. That way, you can work on your LFS from your main desktop, which will probably be much more comfortable, will allow you to easily copy and paste from the book and so forth.

You can do it from a live cd/usb just fine, but you'll need to repeat some preparation steps (basically chapter 2 of the book) every time you boot the host.

The way I did was to install the host (I chose Debian) on a small partition on the disk, leaving most of the space for the LFS partition. Once the (B)LFS build was complete enough that I didn't need the host anymore, I just removed its partition and expanded the LFS partition into the now unallocated space.

I was wondering the same thing. I checked my email, and over the past month I've received an email about policy changes from:

Discord
Anthropic (Claude)
Nintendo
YouTube
Meta
Airbnb
Microsoft

I don't think it can be just a coincidence. At least a couple of them specifically mention the UK’s Online Safety Act so maybe that's the reason?

Do you get to keep the garnishes after finishing the drink?

[–] JRaccoon@discuss.tchncs.de 3 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I'm opposite of that, I don't like ball gags, mostly because of the drooling they cause. I know some people find that hot, but it's not for me. I've heard ring gags cause less drooling, not sure if true. In general I prefer when the sub can still scream, beg, talk back, and everything in between, why take that away with a gag :3

Just an update: I was given moderation rights to this community, and I started by updating the sidebar a bit. I didn’t put too much thought into it tho, so suggestions are still more than welcome!

Hi, I'm requesting /c/tickling due to the current mod (@postal11@lemmynsfw.com) being inactive. Thanks in advance!

Further notes about Adam + Furry over the years:

  • when asked The "What animal would you be?" Question: "Without a doubt my fursona is a lion."
  • knew the word "fursuit" while repairing a Totoro costume

From today until March 15, 2026, the maximum lifetime for a TLS certificate is 398 days.

As of March 15, 2026, the maximum lifetime for a TLS certificate will be 200 days.

As of March 15, 2027, the maximum lifetime for a TLS certificate will be 100 days.

As of March 15, 2029, the maximum lifetime for a TLS certificate will be 47 days.

What's everyone's opinion on this? I think from a security standpoint their reasoning is valid and in many cases it's very easy to automate the renewal with ACME or something else. But there's likely gonna be legacy stuff still around in 2029 that won't be easy to automate.

Finland headed to the polls on Sunday to elect thousands of councillors in a range of local and regional bodies.

The Social Democrats took a big win in the municipal elections, taking nearly one in four votes nationwide to push the National Coalition Party of Prime Minister Petteri Orpo into second place.

In the county council elections, for 21 regional bodies that arrange social and healthcare outside Helsinki, the SDP also topped the poll. The Centre Party recorded a good result in its rural heartlands to secure third spot.

Government parties did poorly, with all but the NCP losing support compared to the previous municipal elections in 2021. Turnout in the municipal election was 54.2 percent, while the county elections saw 51.7 percent of eligible voters cast their ballots.

The dual vote for municipal and county councils caused logistical issues for election officials, with counting slower than usual for Finland, where large numbers vote in advance and results are usually clear within a couple of hours of polls closing.

The Finns Party saw support collapse compared to the last municipal election, with the party nearly halving its vote from four years ago. They lost support in several towns that are seeing hospital services cut back as part of the central government's savings drive.

National Coalition Party candidate Alexander Stubb is set to become Finland's next president on 1 March, beating independent (but supported by the Greens) candidate Pekka Haavisto.

I voted for Haavisto but think that Stubb will be a excellent president too. They both are very experienced in foreign policy, pro-EU and very strong supporters of Ukraine. In fact, the press had to dig real hard to find any differences between them, the most major one being their stance on how Finland should respond (to very theoretical situation) if NATO wanted to store nuclear weapons in Finland or transport them via our territory.
