Considering how old our civilisations are, the traditions and livelihoods of our fellow person, the history of all that is human and the understanding to human of all that is not....
Would you like some toast?
So that when they find his hard drives, he can say the person is actually 3,032 years old.
This is what I have always done. I have a very good memory, and I've lost count how many times I've been let down by a film purely because of the trailer(s) beforehand just exposing all elements.
People in the UK drink so much tea (or coffee these days), that breaks in soap operas (such as Eastenders) cause the national grid to be on high alert, due to the incredulous surge of power from so many kettles being turned on at once.
I remember, in university, at the start of a Latin American History class the lecturer walks in with boxes and straight up asks, "SO WHO WANTS TO DO COCAINE?!?"
Then proceeds to take out coca leaf tea bags, offers everyone a cup, and explains how she was intentionally wrong in her statement to highlight a big issue. She explained the Native use of coca leaf, and how they have suffered from people using their sacred herb in concentrated and illicit ways.
She also gave me a box to take home, because I said it helped with my stomach cramps (medical issue), and it really did. No addiction felt either.
With some teachers you can really tell how passionate they are.
How could American politicians be so against pornography, when so many keep getting caught with prostitutes?
Typical. Rules for thee I guess.
I have a feeling OP posted this as bait, so people would post cute pics of their rescued dogs.
And I commend this effort. Moar doggos pls.
Haha the same thing happened to me, at Chicago O'Hare airport.
Before they searched me the man said I had a "suspicious package" in my "groin area". I'll never forget the man's face as he grabbed a handful of dick. Eye contact as well, it was so romantic (probably not for him, but I still had a semi so...)
Glad you pointed this out. The efforts of Guy Fawkes and his team were to restrict the rights of many. Although the character of V For Vendetta is cool, it's very, very loosely based on the actual Guy Fawkes (who gives me the impression of a bigot, from what we know of the gunpowder plot).
It's disgusting that homosexuality is seen as such an abhorrent thing in this day and age. Are all humans not capable of love? If the answer is a resounding yes, then why are we stopping consenting adults from expressing this? Because of some archaic scripture from thousands of years ago? Excuse my French here, Lebanon, but kindly get to fuck.
Those are probably just newbies. My Reddit account is about 12 years old, and Lemmy right now reminds me of the good days of Reddit. It's ramping up that way.
I think it's great. Read about philosophy, memes, and get the occasional booba in-between. It's good Internetting.
Occasionally I check the news, maybe once per month or two, just to see if the world is still on fire.
Most of the time it is. Fair enough I guess.
