you can do two spaces
at the end of a line then newline to keep that newline in the formatting

it keeps like line spacing unlike with double newlines

you can do blur with css have a look at the backdrop-filter thing as well

but I think the bigger problem here is getting the content to be behind the titlebar, because the titlebar and the content share a common parent and you'd have to position the titlebar to be above the content, probably with negative margins?

then you have to worry about the page being translated up, so you'd somehow have to modify all pages to have a top margin for their body or something so it doesn't look off

you all need to learn to distinguish between the people/the government/the country

maybe it's just because that's the more memorable/unique parts of their name?

trump/biden is much more distinctive than donald/joe
clinton could refer to both bill or hillary
obama/kamala is more memorable than barack/harris (though maybe for obama that's just because I've heard 'obama' so many times)

I'm not saying that's definitely not true, just that there might be other reasons why

gives off the same 'solution looking for a problem' vibes as corporate marketing around ai lmao

I don't like it because it's placing an objective statement on a subjective matter. it's also apparently run by a single person (which is understandable given what it needs to do) but I just don't like the vibes that gives off.

I think it'd be a lot better if it just stated objective things (e.g. where their funding comes from, the corporate relationships, country they're based in)

there's a few people I know that's been affected btw

i get that there's a need for 3g to be shut down but there's no need to ban phones with 4g data capability that can't call without 3g (lacking voip implementation), the telcos could've just provided an app to do it because voip is just a protocol over ip

it's pretty fucking obvious that the telcos bribed the government into forcing them to block these devices because they get more money that way, they don't have to pay for the ewaste they artificially create and they don't look bad because they can just say that they're 'forced by legislation' to do so

never knew about the existence of the E variant, that's interesting

building coreboot from scratch can be intimidating (it's not actually as hard as it looks though), if you're interested I recommend skulls which has pre-built images and makes it really easy if you have a raspberry pi or something

Made some replacement parts for the T430 because I had a broken T430 that was missing these. None of them require screws so they should be ideal if you find a broken T430 on the side of the road or something.

I just bought a used "faulty" T430.

It doesn't turn on at all (no lights, no sounds, no fan spin) and when I tried to turn it on with only the critical components (motherboard, power adapter and speakers), I got the same result.

I've also examined the power area on the motherboard, and it seems like 20V is getting delivered to the motherboard just fine.

But I've looked at the motherboard thoroughly, and I couldn't find a single part of it that looked bad.

Is this definitely caused by the motherboard, or could it be an issue with another component like the CPU?

Because of the time it takes for mods to moderate content on Lemmy, the"new" sort's been prone to abuse.

Could a "delayed new" sort, where the newest content x hours ago is shown be introduced to help suppress this problem?

Coming from Windows 10 (I switched 6 months ago), I find the task switcher animation in KDE extremely obnoxious, as I expect it to pop up instantly.

Still, I enjoy the other animations in KDE, so I don't want to turn off all the animations in the global settings.

I searched for a solution but all the relevant posts were on the now defunct KDE subreddit which I cannot view.

Is there any way to turn off just the fade in/fade out animation?
