Omnivore is not easy to self-host and now I understand why.
This is all very sad.
Every time an open-source cloud gallery like Ente or PhotoPrism is mentioned, someone is sure to come along and talk about Immich.
I mean, Immich is cool, yeah, but it definetly is not a gold standard or something. Ente is a much more finished product.
VanillaOS is very promising, but it has Gnome as the only DE option unfortunately.
GrapheneOS
Google Pixels are the only options with this one.
No-Ad Modded Spotify from Balatan
Have you tried Spotube? It is a no ads YouTube Music client, that fetches your library from Spotify.
I can't recommend you a specific device, but can suggest a Bootloader Unlock: Wall of Shame, which can help you choose a device, as you are planning to install a custom ROM, like Lineage. Best of luck with your device search!
And even if you look at the desktop only, Firefox marketshare still will be higher:
Firefox: 6.64% Linux: 4.45%
Isn't it proprietary?
Source available ≠ open-source
Plasma needs stability
Yeah, let's not mention Gnome breaking every peace of itself every update, along with abandoning APIs and hating QT apps. How can I use a DE, if I can almost certainly be sure that half of my extensions won't work after another update? Or that all of my QT apps will look weird (if they'll work at all)?
And I don't hate Gnome. It's cool and stuff, but you can't call it stable, 'cause KDE/XFCE/LXDE/[insert DE name here] will be far more stable than Gnome.
Cool, but why's that all of a sudden?
Gnome likes to remove important APIs from time to time which leads to extensions being broken for an awfull long time after an update and also has all sorts of issues with QT apps, simply because Gnome devs do not want to bother with things they consider not important.
What's your issue with KDE?
EDIT: Typos.
