There was a critical vulnerability found on Firefox some days ago: CVE-2024-9680. Fennec and Mull are forks of Firefox. They both fixed this issue already in their source code, BUT there is a problem preventing F-Droid from building these updated, fixed versions.

In the case of Mull, you can download the updated version from the DivestOS F-Droid repository: https://divestos.org/fdroid/official/, but if you are currently using the F-Droid version you will need to uninstall it first, since they have different signatures.

Poor choice of colours: distinguishing between the orange of 2025 and the red of 2040 is very hard, especially considering most people will read this on a small phone screen.

Organic Maps and OsmAnd are not adding ads during navigation either. Nor "promoted pins". Nor ads when browsing the map. Nor tracking your every move.

Seriously, give them a try. And remember that, if the maps are lacking information, you are free (and encouraged) to improve them on OpenStreetMap.

I want a smaller smartphone but not an iPhone. It's sad that Apple is the only manufacturer still producing reasonable sized phones. Small phone gang unite and push for other manufacturers to follow Apple on this one!

Am I the only one who is put off by the way this is presented? It might be a great app, I'm not judging that, but seeing it shared in Lemmy via a hype YouTube video ("we made something amazing, wow!") makes me wary. No objective text description, no link to their project website. Not even a name in this post!
