we had real internet.

frikkin' LUCKY!

I had to use a neighbor's computer, and AOL installed itself as a walled garden, so I couldn't connect with anything outside the application. But for 13 year old me it was all I knew and I -loved- it! Lol

But you didn't need a new CD each time, iirc.

Did anyone else know people who would say they'd just get a new AOL disc to "add more free hours" even though it very much did not work like that?

It was free, but iirc, you had to sign up for a monthly subscription, and the 700 hours was just your first month free.

It's okay everyone, calm down. God said it's cool. "Thou shalt not kill unless I gave you some land." Remember?

Hopefully this will be like a first up tech startup where they are super successful for a while, then someone else comes along and does it better.

Conservatism is about slowing change. Change causes fear in those who are not adequately prepared to meet it. This is a symptom of someone who is mentally unhealthy. The level of fear is proportionate to the overall level of mental health.

All that to say: I think those with disorders are more likely to be conservative, but to a certain level conservatism is healthy.

MAGA on the other hand? That deserves to be seen as a disorder, imo.

I never got to experience the BBS systems or things like Usenet. Would love to go live in that era!
