Be me, about four years old. Decide i need to drive a car for fun.Wake little brother at four in the morning and we sneak out with moms car keys. This is in the city mind you, with cars parked tightly behind each other on the curb. Get in, start the engine and lights. Can't get the fucking hand brake lose. Luckily mom smells bullshit and comes looking for us before I figure it out. Get roasted for that to this day, mom is nearly 70 now and still tells this story to this day.

I'm kind of an electrical engineer by training. Experience taking electronics apart, but this was my first mechanical device. It was quite the journey and I only saw some general videos about people taking combustion engines apart. It's a pretty simple device really, but still a new skill. :)

Might be. Still, recommending OP compromises with his partner.

Pretty sure she is eating out that unicorn.

Yeah maybe she might be a little overreaching there? Forcing someone to always make (and eat) the thing you prefer is not a healthy relationship. Time to compromise.

Many people stop developingg personally as soon as they can. Which can be frustrating to see it you pursued higher education and learned how the world actually works while they work, watch TV and drink beer.

But people can only avoid responsibility for so long until life forces them to grow up. Just wait until these people have children or their parents die. Plenty old people are dumb as a rock still, but not as many as you would expect from the numbers. Wisdom is a form of knowledge and people grow, evenh without academic fertilizer.

Took a wood shredder apart and back together after something got stuck inside.

As nobody has mentioned this yet. Vote! On Sunday all Germans vote on their representation in the EU. Vote for the pirate party or another progressive party. Vote out the grandpa's and grandma's that want to "protect" their adult children.

We just had a thread about biopunk centered media, I would love a similar collection about movies and TV shows about solar punk. Here we go:

I really loved the show the peripheral. I know it's not really centered around solar punk per se, but it happens to be placed in a world where the main character goes from place to place in a solar charged e-bike.

What's your favorite show or movie set in a solar punk world?

Just started reading and I am already planning to switch over to extreme test driven development. We don't test nearly enough.

Whats your preferred development strategy? And comparably good sources you would recomment?

do you know hypothesis / quickcheck? (hypothesis.readthedocs.io)

We use this primarily for input generation for dialog tests.

Its a quickcheck implementation and found us quite alot of "weird" bugs. Like a not-exactly matching encoding of database and application.

Now we gained clean utf smileys in text fields m)

Highly recommend it.

This post is a little older, but I was surprised how many packages are timeless allstars. I use all of them except for

  • cors headers
  • extensions
  • storages
  • pytest
  • environ

Which do you use? And for what reasons? For example I need to look into pytest and determinw whats better about that than the natively used test framework.

First post in the new community,

Cheers!
