I think you assumed I disagree with you on that. I was trying to explain the exact reason I think you're right: He hasn't shown any signs that it was at all his fault, she's definitely shown signs it's her fault. Simple as that. I swear, I wasn't not trying to imply there was any fault for the black guy, only that his behavior DOES suggest he's INNOCENT. Sorry, I'm a bit annoyed but I get there was some ambiguity to what I typed.

Yeah, that's pretty much it.

For some reason my first thought upon seeing this was "Reading Rainbow" and I'm not sure why because I was born in the early 90s.

[-] ToyDork@sh.itjust.works 12 points 6 days ago

As someone not familiar with all this, I think what's telling is that she says "sorry" yet plays the victim outright immediately afterwards. If you say "I'm sorry for what I did and I just hope he's sorry for what he did" then that says to me "I realize I screwed up, stop forgetting he screwed up too" then fine. But "I'm sorry" and then segueing into "he hurt me" without an acknowledgement of what you did? Clearly trying to deflect as much blame as possible. The worst part is she's probably doing it that way because the family lawyer advised her on what slander is. Fucking rich bitch flaunting her whiteness, and I say this as someone who looks as white as they come.

That said, a big help is that it doesn't seem like the black dude was spending his time since the incident with business as usual from what the event suggests. That's nothing on it's own, but it lends further credibility that the Karen has no ground to stand on.

I WILL BURN THE GOOGLEPLEX TO THE FUCKING GROUND!

It's stressing me out to leave communities that are relevant to it unblocked. The sheer cynicism is affecting my mood and I'm having to block all communities about real life news of any kind for personal health, so I am wondering if anyone considers "A Boring Dystopia, but instead of being boring, it's edgy or (at best) a cool workaround for corporate internet BS." a deserving project to continue? I plan to remain lead mod but give the first new moderator free reign; I wouldn't be asking this if I had any intention of ever pulling anything stupid like deleting it on a whim, I think I would like to see it continue but in better hands than my own.

I can't take reading about how the world is collapsing every fucking day, if anyone wants a mod position and has experience, DM me and I'll give you free reign with an exception for banning me from A Nerdy Dystopia (I will keep the main moderator position to prevent this). Shouldn't be that hard to run a community like this if you're used to A Boring Dystopia's posts, it's basically this but the posts are about subverting corporate control or about how non-boringly evil some people are. I just want to relax and can't run a community like A Nerdy Dystopia without getting stressed by all potentially-relevant content.

Apparently this was missed, so for posterity I'm cross-posting it. Sadly, this is old news, not actually a new update. Still a good feature, though.

GTX is an RPNation fandom RP that takes place in a heavily-modified version of the official lore of Glitch Techs, that adds in a backstory that places Hinobi and PLixel Technology as originating in the aftermath of WWII (PLixels were used to defeat Japan rather than nukes, much more humane and less lethal than you might be imagining, this isn't a grey goo kind of story) and the existence of many fictional megacorps from across fiction.

It includes a lot of references; Krei Tech and Buy'n'Large are as canon as Arasaka and Vault-Tec in GTX's weird mish-mash, but leaning heavily towards the former because this is a very lighthearted and pro-escapist RP with a general theme of "scummy business practice doesn't pay" as Hinobi's monopoly arose due to extensive abuse of legal loopholes by Hinobi's competitors, who are usually corrupt megacorps from stories less optimistic than Glitch Techs that went bankrupt trying to act like they did in their source material. Among the other survivors are Innovative Online Industries (headed by a lookalike of Ratchet from the CGI movie Robots), microDyne (a merger of Cyberdyne Systems who created SkyNet, and microTech from Star Citizen) and - due to being a new introduction - Volpe who is a new company founded after the majority of others went out of business.

Anyway, feel free to read and join if you're interested.

My mom is this, cats love her and she doesn't mind too much even though she's allergic to them, but it does mean she can't pet them because cat hair gives her watery eyes, stuffed up nose and sneezes/coughing.

If not for that and that some cats pee on everything, I'd love to adopt a cat. They're basically a furry parent if they like you, that's why they sometimes try to bring you gifts (they think you're a kitten because you can't hunt).

I like to make sure other people's pets are comfy or happy when I visit someone or see someone walking their dog by taking notice and being nice, dogs and cats especially are usually happy to be noticed!

And then people wonder why I have more hope for Star Citizen (currently on Alpha 3.22.x and about to go to 3.23, which will likely involve a big number of features being completed) which has been in development for 12 goddamn years, than I do for Bethesda games. Fallout peaked at New Vegas and 4 was just borrowing from Obsidian's successful design.

Freaking Cyberpunk 2077 and No Man's Sky were able to be fixed, this is a corporate culture issue.

Okay, is it just me or is the total global revenue for physical media music less than $2 USD a year? I must be reading it wrong.

This. Didn't even use my Pixel 8 (then brand-new) until Grapheme OS was available for it (my Pixel 7 Pro got damaged beyond repair in an incident, not happy but though I expect privacy I don't expect a phone to survive ~20G of force) because fuck Google.

There's an interesting little game called Insignificant I've been keeping an eye on for a while that does a similar thing if not as graphically-rich. There's also Smalland and Moss.

Trump made phone calls to Republicans in Florida to "find more votes" in 2016. That's legally considered voter fraud. AFAIK, committing voter fraud, regardless of outcomes, is supposed to disqualify you from the running.

I get that I'm not citationing any of this, so sue me. Wikipedia this ain't. I'm just pointing out that to my knowledge, Trump committed voting fraud (in addition to the Cambridge Analytica targeted campaign ads stuff) in both elections. Even if that doesn't disqualify him or have a noticeable effect on the election results, no one would have voted for him if they knew he would try to outright cheat, and even if they couldn't have known until he did, he wouldn't have been able to usurp the throne (so to speak) if the American public knew about the fraud during the counting process.

The worst part about it is that he had everyone (including myself) believing Hilary had embezzled money while she was Treasurer only for the investigation into it to turn up nothing for the entirety of Trump's stolen time and during the Biden Administration.

Don't quote me on any of that, I'll double-check all that and keep my mouth shut if it turns out I'm wrong. Just, as far as I'm aware, realize that I have heard a lot about the above incidents, so either multiple people on different websites and IRL ranging from close friends to complete strangers were saying things fuelled by rumors that were not contradicting each other's false reporting, or the American system isn't just broken but compromised.

Apparently 3 people can't admit George Clooney isn't wearing that shirt to say they're "losers", he's wearing it to say they're evil, and stupid enough that they're doomed to lose because they are ignorant of actual history.

I criticize woke culture for being a glorified PR campaign all the time, but the alt-right can go to hell for all I care. Trump committed voter fraud, he was NEVER actually President. We just didn't find out until after he lost re-election and it was too late for any true justice to actually matter.
